Question about screenshots

So, here's something I've wondered for a while, the only way to take a half-decent screenshot most of the time is using the F9 tool. But whenever I use mine, I have an issue. I pull it up, situate my character and the angle, hit alt+h to hide all the bars and ****. But then after I take a screenshot, everything shows up again. And Alt+h won't work until I close out of the F9 tool. Considering that having all the graphics turned up lags me horribly, that's a big problem. I like to take multiple shots from the same angle. In case the character blinks or moves weird, since I'm sage, I also have that ugly fairy thing flying around me and it can get in the shot, etc. Is there any way to fix it so I don't have to keep re-posing and angling? Short of using FRAPs, that is.

    check hide UI it will hide all the UI on the screen when your picture is taken.

    Really? I tried that a few minutes ago, and the screenshot showed the bars still. But it may have just been my system lagging. I'll try it again.

    Yep, I have no idea why taking the screenshot brings back the UI, so I strongly suggest that you check the "Hide UI" box.

    At least Descent gave us the option to increase the resolution of screenshots through the Zoom (2x, 3x, etc) selector. Images can look much cleaner now thanks to it.

    That did work, thanks for the suggestion. Dunno why it didn't before. b:chuckle

    Does the resolution automatically adjust? When I zoomed in, I guess I didn't really notice anything. Of course, I always play with everything turned down, so on the rare moments when I turn everything up it always looks awesome.

    The one thing that I've always found weird is when I select to "soften", my character ends up with a dark aura sort of thing around her wings/dark clothing. But it doesn't seem to do the same thing with her light coloured hair or skin. o_o

    Edit: By the same thing, I mean a light aura, obviously the soften is just blurring the edges. I just thought there would be a light aura around light areas since there's the dark aura.

    not to totally hijack your thread, well sorta...how do I take a screenie of my equipment individually?

    Like say I hit f9 an bring it up, then mouse over the weapon to bring up stats, but they go away when i move mouse to hit the take screenie button.

    Hehe. Like Hazumi said, simply hit Print Screen. Or you could use Fraps to take a photo, their screenshot hotkey is F10. But, for some reason, when I try using Fraps on PW it completely bones the contrast so the entire image is really really dark.
