mmmm the only class I actually support in the skill department are the BM choices as most of those don't rely on refines they just don't hurt to have. Every other choice I've seen better players without the refines.

Yes, I probably knew what you meant by max gear, but the veno's that were listed off did not have the best gear of their era. Antigone knew what he was doing, even if he used his nix a lot, as did Kalia. Chireu was a great veno in both PvE and PvP and knew how to use her gear to kill/survive people. sadpuma had worse gear than me for the most part and he was probably a better veno that I am. We had lots of fun 1v1ing each other with/without nixes one day and the fights went both ways.

There's other people as well but you know, there's a few examples. Notice how some people like Lady_Pona and Sara_Ita weren't mentioned? Those people had much better gear than all of us and they embarrassed themselves.

As for the other classes, most people's choices were appropriate minus a few people who are doing it for friend reasons etc. Part of being a skilled player is knowing how to play with your gear, even if it is overpowered. Example: Someone hase +5 TT90 gear and kills targets he can, mildly. Someone else has +10 TT99 gear but only picks off a few people in a TW, doing his job, but his friend has the same gear and goes all out in the midst of people, both distracting, causing havoc and killing people. See how the last person knows how to use his gear?

People that are good players normally have people wanting to play with them and they also put the time and effort in to get the gear, its part of being a good player all around.

PVE in this game isnt particularly hard, even with 'back in the day' average gears, as long as everybody has half a braincell (I remember running 3-3's with Marin and rcrmicheal_ and doing rb's nonstop with a full level ~95 squad, all with +3~5 gears). So therefore, the good players stick together and put the effort into getting competitive gear. As mystic said, a lot of these people didnt have maxed out cashshop gears, their gears were a result of them putting the effort in and being recognized by their peers as being awesome players.

Crazydan - Heavens Tear

For wizards based on skill Srcubby is beast but i have never seen wizards survive and nuke as well as Cheaper and Vezz without the super hax gear.

back when it wasnt a massive effort to see who can be the most overgeared. *sigh* good times. still now its kinda the same, im not on the bm as much like back then, but then we had the barb keep aggro on the boss, now im the barb and i gotta keep the big dd aggro on me while others try to coordinate to take em out and clerics heal me lol
