Sage Raving Slash - Description and effect

Today, I was bored enough to learn another useless skill. This time, it was Sage Raving Slash. The description for the skill says that it'll give me 10 Attack Levels while reducing my Defense Levels by 10. It doesn't.

I was rather perplexed when I used it and saw that my Defense Levels, which were 0 at the time, had not decreased. Having been debuffed by a Seeker in the past, I know that you can have negative Defense Levels. After checking again, I noticed that my defenses had decreased.

Yes, it turns out that Sage Raving Slash gives you the same buff that Enrage gives: Frenzy. It reduces you defenses by a massive quantity for 10 Defense Levels.

Here is a photo of my stats with and without Raving Slash's buff and the skill description as it appears in the game.

I'm not quite sure how it compares with Enrage since I don't have the skill on any of my genies. Besides, the skill is rather useless to testing to see just how much the debuff is would be a bit redundant.

    Learnt this skill a while ago, and never noticed that o.O

    But now that u mention it kinda sucky lol

    Although I wouldn't say its entirely useless, I usually chain sprk>dash>raving slash>subsea>rift n hope for a crit. It usually increases dmg even if by a little after crits and spark the additional dmg does make a difference.

    Just my thoughts o.o

    Very interesting find Olbaze.

    I think it'll only be good for doing some aoe. Raving slash to Rift. Not much else you can do in 5 seconds.

    I have frenzy on my genie, and buffless it reduces my defenses to very low. M def less than 100 each and p def around 300. I mainly use it when I know the boss I'm fighting won't tick my charm when I have no defenses. Though 20 attack levels is a big difference from Raving Slash's.

    Yeah I learned sage Raving Slash about a week ago.

    I like using it right after I spark on the bosses in FC. XD

    It's an "ok" skill.......wish the duration was 10 seconds instead of 5 since you can only pop off like...2 skills max in PvP. b:surrender
