Lag Issue

Has anyone been having terrible lag spikes lately?
Normally when I play my ping is green, roughly 200ms (I'm in the UK) but lately its been jumping up to roughly 15k+ (earlier I had 93k ping but didnt get a screenshot) making my game play completely stop causing deaths, charm abuse and being kicked from squads since I'm useless in that state.
I've restarted my router many times, restarted the game many times and restarted my laptop many times and I can't find the answer >,...,<

Exactly.
In my case it causes constant disconnects today.
Every 5-7 minutes I am totally kicked off.0 -
Mine is weird!!
I attack a mob and lag out of my face, as soon as the mob is dead *charm abuse & pot button smash* it seems to return. When I'm standing around doing nothing its fine but that's no fun0 -
Getting large ping and lag spikes all the time now.
I used to get 150 to 300 on average, now it's over 450 constantly, and 7-8 k at times.
Not a line issue, I pinged a test server in NY and got 140ms.0 -
Mine is also does not seem to be a line issue, I am able to play MW3 online on my xbox with no trouble/lag at all. Only on PWI.
Day 2 of not being able to do anything in game. Great.0 -
I've been having lag spikes a lot lately to not game breaking though it jumps from 130ish to 400ish at times but it hasn't really gone into the red. The rubberbanding at the Shroud Temple makes me want to break something at times though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Common reasons that you can't connect to the servers, experience disconnects, or just have lag in general...
1. You don't have the three .exe files for the client set to run as administrator.
2. You don't have the game directory set as an exception in your security softwares.
3. Your network adapter driver is out of date and needs to be refreshed.
4. Your local area network settings are improperly configured.
5. You have more than one firewall and don't realize it.
6. Your firewall settings are too strict. (Very common with ZoneAlarm and Commodo firewall.)
7. Your router is configured improperly.
8. you have a bad network cable.
9. You're using a wireless network connection. (Which leads to another huge list.)
10. You have a lot of traffic on your local network that is bogging your router/modem down.
11. There's a fault in your router.
12. There's a fault in your modem.
13, You have a bad phone cord plugged into your modem.
14. There's an issue with your house wiring.
15. There's an issue with your outside wiring.
16. A squirrel chewed on your phone line at the pole and it's raining. (I've had this happen personally.)
17. A switch/router at the CO for your ISP is having an issue.
18. One of the many hubs between you and PWI is having an issue. (most common)
19. There is heavy sunspot activity. (has happened within the past two years)
20. There's a regional router outage. (Has happened several times, most recently just a couple of weeks ago.)
That's just a few. The more details you give, the better I can narrow it down and tell you what the issue is.
ALSO, Post a copy of a traceroute to the server. (not to the website)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

So I wasnt the only one who experienced lag lately.. ps: I got DCs too.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
ive had multiple dc myself recently...and afew times the teleport mechanism malfunctioned, and had my char in an infinite falling loop that keapt on restarting
given there are a varietys of reports of lag spikes and dc on here...and very recently, along with lag spikes....my guess is that there is wide spread disruption across multiple hubs....
ive been having an odd sort of lag, where my fps and ping is normal, but it lags like a connection disruption.....
it isnt my comp memory because it has 8 gigs ram..it aint the processor cause it has 3.6 ghz
i just replaced the cordings to my computers as well (the ethernet and phone cable) so it isnt that....
my connection does just fine with everything else, including streaming movies on multiple things at once, even does fine with music streaming and web surfing while pwi is lagging on me like this
it isnt me ram, processor, connection, router,or isp....and ive already set the administrator privileges on all pwi files
i took care of the firewall sometime ago
and it only does this when i teleport on pwi,and even then it only does it randomly....i can go in archosaur city even when its heavily crowded...and no lag at all with an fps of 50,with near max settings
so considering ive ruled out virtually everything...and multiple people in different places on the planet are reporting more or less the same issues....i can say confidently that it must be something causing near planetwide disruption0 -

or it could be that some idiot nicked one of the undersea trunk lines with an anchor again -.-0

I have been having the same problems on the dreameaver server. Major lag spikes, dc's, the game just closing. I have verified the pwi files, cleaned out the cookies, many virus scans even bought a new one to run, reset the modem many times, restarted the computer including pulling the battery, disc defrag ect. My husband is also having the same problem but we dont have the problem at the same time all the time but we are using the same wireless and both our computers are under 2 months old. They are even the same model.0

You forgot 21 this game just has crappy server's. This game has always had somewhat crappy connectivity at times. I can play WoW and my ping stays around 30-60ms this game has always been in the 100's and up always jumping around. I've played ffxi WoW and Rift and FPS's and my connection on those games is always great this game is the only one with a jumpy connection.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
