I dont buy anything from shop(maybe latter i will) that is why it is hard for me to get a herc or a nix.
Is it possible to get a herc without buying it from the shop,i mean with grinding and saving money at high lvls?
And is it really needed to have a herc,or is it also possible to solo things without him? I mean if a herc can solo a boss at lvl 60 can i solo that boss with a glacial walker at lvl 70?

If you're dedicated enough, it is certainly possible to get a herc without cash shopping, though it is definitely harder than when gold was lower.

You generally have to be much higher level to solo a boss with a walker than with a herc. As an example, Wyvern (FB51 boss with an increased damage curse) is soloable at 63 with a herc, but not until 9x with a walker.

I'm going to be completely honest and straight-forward with you.
It is 100% possible to get a hercules or phoenix pet entirely without using real-life money.
It also comes with the 99% chance that you will get frustrated and quit before you farm one of the two.

I've had my hercules pet since level 1 as it was a gift and I must say it was a life-saver and an amazing thing to have. It allowed me to solo many parts of my cultivation and tank lots of things that nobody else my level was able to. It enabled me to solo all my bounty hunter quests and saved me a lot of money that might have had to go into HP charms or potions.

Back in that day, venomancers with hercules pets were also extremely great money makers because of their ability to solo twilight temple. HOWEVER, these days, with the bountiful amount of high APS players who are able to solo-farm most things there is a flooded market of TT drops - and therefor the ability of a veno to make money that was has been lowered greatly. However, with the addition of all these high aps characters came a new dungeon known as the palace of nirvana. This drops uncanny and rapture crystals which are in high demand for their necessity in the creation of Nirvana armor as well as the recasting of rank 9 armors and weapons. High APS squads often will ask for a venomancer to accompany them in farming Nirvana because our ability to debuff bosses can be priceless at times. When I farm nirvana I make about 500k per run and it takes around 20 minutes or less.

The catch when it comes to nirvana is that you have to be at least level 100 to enter the instance. So this brings me to my point and conclusion (apologiessss for the crazy amount of text). The REAL money making doesn't start until after you're level 100, where you can do things like nirvana as well as the bounty hunter quests for level 100+ (which have the chance to award you with either 2 or even 5 million coins) One thing I've noticed is that around level 90, my hercules pet really lost it's 'wow-factor'. Don't get me wrong it's still an AMAZING tanking pet - and I use it whenever I'm in a dungeon like FC, Nirvana or BH, but it doesn't hold aggro anymore and it's just a little bit of extra damage. I have both a phoenix pet and a hercules and I have to be completely honest, i never use my hercules unless i'm in an area where i can only use a land pet.

So if i wasnt clear, my point is that... You won't make any real money until youre at least level 100 - and after that hercules is useless. So in my opinion just get a glacial walker and don't even worry about a hercules pet and go straight for a phoenix once you get the money.

I agree with the poster above. Though I never had either legendary pet, I got to 100 fine without them. I didnt get them /until/ I was 100. The herc was a gift and leveling it 1-100 was really no problem for me, though some people seem to lose their sanity before they do it in the amount of time I did. At this point most people find the herc can solo a lot... but you find it kinda useless. I really wanted mine on the wrong assumption I could make a lot of money with it. But in fact... even after I got the herc and did some HHs with it, the most he probably attributed to buying my /Phoenix/ was... 15m?

My nix was mostly bought with money I made off NV that I was saving up for Rank 8. But the sale for battle pets came first so I ended up buying it instead of waiting for r8. I really like the nix more than the herc, even if I find the herc is better in instances ( if I could have a nix in instances -I think I'd still use a herc), aoe grinding and the like, his uses are greatly limited from what the glamour of a "Herc Veno" used to be. I dont think anythings really changed but people's attitudes. Nix on the other hand... while pet hardly matters in grinding, nix is amazing for it. It helps kill mobs even faster and can handle mobs on its own with little assistance. It is also the best pet you can possibly have for pvp, but in the times we are in now pet obviously matters less than gear.

Though overall I recommend getting a nix over the herc if you do want a legendary pet, you shouldnt be too discouraged by a price tag, cause doubting what you can do wont help you get there. If you have dedication and determination it will be worth it when you can say you took the road less traveled.

But no, neither pet is needed. I simply got them so long after they lost their "uses" because veno's my main and I had been dreaming of such things since I joined but I cant cash shop b:laugh

[My herc] enabled me to solo all my bounty hunter quests

    Really? <cough>BH69<cough>
I have both a phoenix pet and a hercules and I have to be completely honest, i never use my hercules unless i'm in an area where i can only use a land pet.

I have both, too, on my current main, and I pull out the herc when I want to grind on melee mobs with good density. I might be able to kill quicker taking them one at a time on the nix, but there's just something about having a dozen or so mobs pounding on the ol' tub of lard...

It's also useful for soloing Blackhole Devourer (OHT Xenomonster Hunt daily) and helping my faction members with bosses (I'm the leader of a small faction and we don't have any high APS to speak of.)

Couldn't have said it better, nice. It just comes down to this: Are you willing to spend money and get it fast, or are you willing to spend time but see slow progress? b:bye
I farmed for nearly 1-2 months back when gold prices were low. It'll be harder now but meh..

i agree with the 2 above this one, i bought my herc then my nix. don't get me wrong herc is still nice but it sure can not hold aggro no longer like it used too.

The only time i use my nix is on flying mobs and that saved my butt many times.

but no you don't have to get a herc. if glacial walker was out when i first started i would of went with a glacial walker instead.

    thx for help :) .
And can u tell me what about the skills for glacial walker. I was thinking to max icicle, tough and learn 1 or 2 more skills.
I was reading about pet skills,i find reflect and strong good skills. Can my glacial walker learn those skills, and where can i find them? :)

If you plan to tank stuff u will need an aggro skill like Bash, Tough will help you to tank more and maybe Threaten as well but if you want to hercify your walker you could try farming legendary skills as the ones you mentioned in Temple of the Dragon. It's a weekly event every Tuesday lvl60+. There are mobs and chests and if your lucky you can get those skills from chests they also give regular skills but it is a pk area so be prepared to get killed once you enter it. Another option is to farm some cash and buy them if you see any cheap ones but they tend to be pricey.

Icicle's fine for holding aggro (it's an elemental bash); I maxed Tough and Icicle and added Threaten for increased tankiness.

An alternative to the Dragon Temple legendary skill scrolls are the one from the Vault in the faction base. These are also pricy, though, and can't be used on a pet below level 80.
