    Let me word it this way...

    * You got heals
    * You got shields
    * You got a self buff that increases phy def
    * Your skills need lots of mana

    Why would you even bother with LA...?

    Unless you have an LA main with epic gear to share with your mystic at end game until you are able to fund proper AA gear, stay away from LA.

    My mystic used to be AA. Then I statted it to LA. Then back to AA.

    And to be quite honest, LA suits better. Don't knock it 'til ya try it.

    In a PvP situation especially, a mystic's lightning fast heals is what gives them a huge edge. If you combine that with the significantly higher hp and pdef (boosted by shell) bestowed by LA gear, it's formidable - extremely hard to kill.
    There are downsides of course. I don't want to hear any **** about mp use, mp regen is negligible and mp pool doesn't matter, you're using the same amount either way. Anyone who mentions the 79 skill will be shot. 5 minute cd.

    I switched to AA, as I said. I don't actually remember why, I think it might have been when I started getting some decent AA gears, or when I got my first bit of r9, not sure. At first, it took a lot of getting used to. I hit slightly harder, not all that much, but obviously noticeably. But I died super-easily, found it especially hard to PK; I was barely critting, something I loved about being LA, and my summons were significantly squishier.

    However, once you get to the proper endgame stuff, it's a different matter. My gear's still not amazing as such, but hell if it does the trick. It's 5-part lunar AA nirvy, r9 belt and top, cube neck and r8 recast wand. I get 63 def lvls from my gear, I think, and I don't have a single def shard. This, added to about 9.5k hp (+10 refines) and ok pdef (I'm not entirely happy with it, but it's alright) gives a significant level of survivability, and negates the need for LA gear...

    So if you dont have completely endgame gears, can afford decent refines (that's where the hp from LA comes from, if you aint gonna refine it don't bother) and perhaps have access to some decent LA stuff already (I used my sin's), it's worth a look imo. You'll be a beast of a tank, but fair warning that of course your damage will be lowered (though critrate makes up for a significant proportion of lost damage).

    Don't knock it 'til ya try it, and even if it doesnt suit your own playing style, remember it might someone else's :P
