Really getting on my nerve

I just installed pwi on my computer, but every time i hit start i get enter game failed... So i decided to do a little bit of reserach to see if i can fix this problem myself.. I came across quite few post where [people had the same oproblem as me.. So i did everything that people mentioned in the post... i updated C++ from links they posted with no joy... i installed directx 9.0c no joy.. I even verfied everything i still get the same problem...So i deleted the game an redownload it again verified every thing from the start an i sill get the same problem again...
I am running windows xp service pack 3 can some one please help me with this issue that am having b:surrenderb:surrender

    Sorry to hear about your problem. You are not alone though hun. I am in the same exact boat. I gave up after 4 uninstalls/ redownloads. It is uber lame. I still havent even heard back from PWI from the support ticket entered almost 5 days ago now. Hoping that with maintenence we will be back up and running. Sad to waste 2x on fail descent update. Does yours hang up on you while installing the descent patch or earlier? Keepin my fingers crossed for both of us. b:surrender

    I think i just resolved my problem i followed the the steps here an notice the C++ i downloaded seemed to be different this one has service pack 1 C++ an it seemed to work go to this link

    By the way oi also installed dotnet so am not sure which fixed my problem
