Caution on treasure chest quest

I found this out the hard way, even if no one has the quest and you get to the correct point to trigger the quest and chest, not only can others see it they can dig the chest as well, attack the boss and grab your loot if any . This is a big problem at the west gate which the 4th or 5th map brought me to as all the pk people will be there. An archer ran straight to the chest and starting digging it and spawned the boss. Luckly i brought my sin along because i was not sure what king of boss would spawn and even if my barb could handle it without dying. I find this pretty horrible on the programers part to allow someone to dig it that doesnt even have the quest.
