Today, I figured out how to solve the issue...you don't really need the launcher updated...considering its the issue with patching, while there's no other issue. I find that I can get on easily from version 350, yes it took me close to 10 hours to patch it from that, but it was worth the wait.
So be sure you either have the genesis or rising tide patcher/launcher and you'll be fine.
