Treasure Map Quest

So after starting the quest, getting to the first treasure chest and killing the boss, it didn't drop anything?
with that my whole quest failed while my sin got to finish it all the way....
Is that how it is supposed to be, or is it another one of the PWE fking up awesomeness'?

Well i got same yesterday and today so seems to be 'random' if you drop 10k coins from the boss it's over until the next day, if you drop another map you can keep going with the quest.

Don't worry, even if it dropped anything, the respawn time on the chests are so ubsurd that you better pray no one farmed the second one before you cus you might be waiting for server reset. b:worried

I did the treasure map quest. It sent me near the winged recluse. I dug the chest, killed the boss and got 6 exp with no drop.

These don't "respawn". They only come up when you find the right area for YOUR map. The quest is absolutely dependent upon you FINDING the exact location. If you are waiting for something to "respawn" you've missed the point of the quest and might in fact learn to read all the descriptions and information about a quest before trying to half way do it.

Yea. when you are in the right location a system message let you know it, then a treasure chest spawns, you have to dig it, kill the boss and be lucky on what it drops.

Yesterday: seeker got to kill 3 bosses.
Today: seeker got to kill 2 bosses.

Yesterday: veno got to kill 4 bosses
Today: veno got to kill 1 boss. ._."

Seems random if you do or don't get to continue the quest .-.
Either way, I really do enjoy it :] finally something else than the usual...

btw.. anyone knows what the starting lvl is for the quest?

I think someone said 60?

I did the quest today, got to kill 5 bosses. A friend did it on 2 characters, he got to kill 1 boss on each. Seems completely random to me.

I was lucky first day on archer and the third boss dropped 2 lvl 4 maps. This got me 2 lvl 5 mobs. Ive been trying more since then on other chars but haven't gotten past lvl 2.

Getting to level 5 is going to be very rare outside of double drop.

I completed the chain, Last boss was Dread Levithan, a giant octupuss.
He dropped 2 items(cant remember the name), these 2 items I traded for 2 Noxius pill thingys and then traded them for 2 Chrono pages.
I started the quest from "Treasure Hunter" NPC in Thousand Streams, thats also where you trade rewards when u are done (if u got any).

So yea, its worth it b:chuckle

ps; the last boss is rly hard, he buffs himself with bramble ect, altho I killed it with just a cleric in squad.
I also heard that there is more than 1 last boss, which one u get is random, I havent been able to confirm this yet b:surrender

Can you let me know if you get to follow thru the end tomorrow too? Cause so far I've made it past the first boss and then just to the first boss and the quest ended.

After I killed the first boss, i got a second treasure Map (treasure map2).
If he didnt drop it, ure done for today, sorryb:surrender

The Elder of the Streams should have a quest to go visit him. b:victory

I did read the quest. I was in the right area wondering around for about 50 minutes, stood in the exact location of the chest as it appeared on the quest map and it still wouldn't respawn.
I did fly to the first box that was near the TB city, landed about 10 feet from it and it was there before I was even close to the area, didn't receive the popup I was supposed to get that gives me the exp, and I didn't know that there was supposed to be a popup, so I farmed the chest and went to the second map which was near the EG city. Stood at the exact spot it showed for about 10 minutes and finally it popped up along with the quest pop-up text. I didn't receive a 3rd map from the boss, and figured I'd go back to the TB one so I could get the pop up and hopefully get 2nd map again. Went to the TB city and stood exactly where the box was before, it popped up after about uhhhh 30? mins. Was sick of waiting so I opened my mount, as soon as I did, it popped up. Got 2nd map and it took me to a bridge next to Sanctuary. Been holding my cleric there all day running around where it should be and it doesn't spawn. Please get off your high-horse thinking you know it all.

Did better than I did. I got a map, then some exp and a popup quest telling me to mine a non-existent chest. b:sad

Level 5 bosses all have bramble. You'd need a way to purge that probably.

Sounds like you missed a step or its messed up for you. Either way the box does not "respawn" as you previously mentioned. Has nothing to do with me being on a "high-horse". Simple, the way you put it indicated you didn't read how to do the quest. And if you still think the boxes "respawn" you still don't get it.

Respawn is a general word to me, so I continue to use it. Obviously the have to spawn in order to dig them, so it's not incorrect to call it respawning to me. Like I said, I read how to do the quest, just because I call it something different than actually "spawning" doesn't mean I'm unable to read a quest log. I'm at the location, I farmed the first chest, I killed the first boss, I collected a treasure map, I went to the place marked on the map. What step is there to miss might I ask?

And as the quest says, if you don't get it dug within 30 minutes, you're SOL. Simple as that. Running back won't make it magically appear again, as you no longer have the quest in your log.

Try running around the area from that point. The X is only accurate to like 10 meters and you have to be pretty much standing right on top to trigger the chest. I usually have to search in a spiral.

Just did it with a team, was totally awesome, had this huge squid underwater and 3 Aphelid Horsemen or whatever there called. Really love the new quests, gotten so much exp and a nice amount of coin from them not to mention over a 1000 rep b:thanks

There *is* a respawn on the chests. If you're in the right area and no chest pops up, someone farmed it recently. Seems to be a 10 minute respawn.

I farmed one but got ks'd by another player on the miniboss. So I waited in the same spot and got another (different!) chest and different miniboss.

this makes me wonder if you can just start picking some of the good chests from anywhere to dig when you're on that step of the quest so you can get a good boss that drops good things. I saw you can get chrono pages / necks / myst tome frags / immac and flawless shards from some of the drops.

My othehalf just dig one of the chests that spawns
up around the lvl 96 sharpfang sipders(didnt have the quest or any thing) we killed the mini boss which droped lvl 4 map

Is this right or you meant to have the quests for the chests to spawn ??
btw my otherhalf couldnt do the next map due to their lvl

The treasure quest is definitely worth it..
Got the lvl 5 boss, it dropped 6 of these item thingys that you can trade for 2 chrono pages each.. Got 12 chrono pages from that boss..
Then I got another lvl 5 boss, got these 5 item things that I traded for the nexus pills..
nexus pills you can trade for 1 chrono page each. Got 5 chrono pages from that..
Currently doing map 4 boss.. but..
Got 17 chrono pages in total in the same day.. b:cute

EDIT: Map 4 boss dropped the map 5 map..
Killed map five map, dropped 6 of the things, turned into chrono pages, have 12 more chrono pages now..
