How come there hasn't been another preset contest?

So a really, really long time ago, the GMs held a contest to put in more presets for the game that were player created. http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=48961 It was before I was a player, but with the new classes there is still a need for this kind of thing. So how come it hasn't happened yet? Did any of these actually get implemented?

I mean, I know we as players could always just post them for other people. Like in this thread http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1269451 but at the same time, this is inefficient. And most people wouldn't even know how to use them. It would be much better to instead hold another contest to add some preset options to the pretty limited EG-and TB options and implement them into the code itself.

So is there a reason this contest wasn't held again? Did it fail? Did it violate some kind of rule? Was it too hard to monitor rule violations? Did it just have way too many entries? What was it?

it probably has something to do with the general ban on .ini file editing in our version of the game.

Then...just disallow ini edited characters?? The tideborn and EG are hard to customize, it'd be nice to have some new presets to work off of that differed from my own ideas. :P

I miss the old fashion set contests. There was one that was made about two years ago that was SAID to be coming soon and was absolutely amazing. Never heard of it again =/

I was actually wondering the same thing too. I've been wanting to participate since Rising Tide came out.

so am I the only one that actually uses the model sliders instead of the presets when generating a new character or something?

Of course not. Some of us are downright addicted to character customization, myself incuded. You're not alone. b:cute

Of course I use the model sliders, but you still have to work off a base preset. And often times that preset affects the final outcome of the product. Check out the second thread if you don't believe me to get an idea of what i mean....
