R8 archer or sin

What do you think would be more fun......A rank 8 sin or a rank 8 archer. My first toon was an archer, but I went sageb:surrender It was before the APS crazy I guess....and I thought sage sounded better.....

I would like a toon that would actually be able to make money when I play.....I always felt like it was hard to get into instances as an archer without interval. I know archer would be better for TW but that is only a small amount of time spent playing. I feel the archer rank 8 weapon is better, and I could try to get a set of fists for some APS but I am still limited by my sage spark.

Any thoughts?

Make a sin, gear it up until you can solo fc and farm, buy acc stash stone, then power level an archer for TW and stash your sins gears.

Demon or not how easy is it for R8 archers to get into nirvana squads? Its not like they just hate one kind of archer for that.

Make a sin if you want something for farming. Archers used to be the great easy 5.0 class when the aps craze started but they got disadvantages.
I'd pick a sin for the reason that archers just don't get bloodpaint, which might be your only healing in a nirvana squad.
Also, sins get their damage off their high dex, archers use claws, less effective because you don't have the high strength.
Sins got a mastery for their weapon, they got skills to increase their damage output,...

So yea, a sin will put out a lot more damage than an archer. b:surrender
If I was you, I'd keep your archer as he is. Play your sage way but roll a sin. You can share the gears and will have the fun/effectiveness of both

Nothing wrong with Sage Archers. The Sage vs Demon really comes down to bow skills and preference. You can make a decent APS toon with a Sage Archer without sacrificing the ability to be good with a bow.

Play whichever one you find more fun. Tbh it's friends, and guilds that influence your ability to get a squad as much as what toon you play. Plus BH 100 can be a great source of income, and an archer will have an easier time than a Sin. Less of them, and AoE DD is really in demand on Delta days.

Archer can still make a decent farming toon. Heck, with 6k HP and 3.33 Sage with +4 GVs can solo any solo TT up to 2-3 without buffs and charms, at a decent profit to (not even constantly downing HP Foods). Not a ton, but with 'Free' ultis from doing BH it's some nice income on the side.

I'm a pure bow sage (r8+7; +5/6 armors). If I had deicides I would be 2.86, and that is just off of the r8 -int. I don't have the cape (didn't want it) or ornas (didn't want them). I'm currently farming LG Vana 2nd cast pants. If I got all of those I believe I would be 4.0.

Sage archer is still a good support in squads, it gives you enough chi to Aim Low basically every mob in BH SoT/Aba. They are pretty good in Warsong too. And ofc, Delta. Delta is a great way to make coin.

I make the vast majority of my coin from BH 100, Nirvy with friends (someone has to run the chests right? Blood Vow helps there too).

As Allynna_ has stated, your faction and your friends are the main factors in you getting squads. Archers get considerably better with r8 gears. So I definitely understand your feelings. I always formed all of my own FCs and wined my own BHs (free wines make friends easily).

Also, as laloner said, it is very difficult for archers to get into random Nirvy squads, so forming with friends/faction mates is definitely better. Blood Vow is basically the best way to get into random squads that I have found, but I still mostly go with faction.

Its up to you, but your aim really shouldn't be to get into random squads Imo, random squads are...horrible....

and a squad of friends or good fac mates would probably take you as either sin or archer.

Well, to elaborate. No **** a sin, being the most broken class ever, is going to outDD a 5.0 archer, but it is also far more expensive. It can even seem a bit redundant as you will be dropping a lot on the assassin before you can turn around and drop it back to your archer. Which brings up the question of...how will you make all the money to gear the assassin? If you are gonna cash shop it, ask yourself, would or would it not be better to just drop it on the archer in the first place if it is what you actually want to play?

I appreciate all the advice....and many of you have voiced concerns that I have had in the past. Basically the Archer was my first toon...and I got it to 99 before getting frustrated with always making my own squad. It is true that friends are the best to play with, but its also hard to coordinate that all the time.

I started playing a sin just cause everyone says they sorta make their own coin due to being OP. I actually have saved up rep badges to rank 8 one toon (storage) already, due to playing hours and hours before + some cash shopping. I like the archer but just to get some of the things you guys are talking about costs millions on my server. Its the age old, you need money to make moneyb:chuckle

I have thought about R8 archer with vanity fists.....sounds good but no bloodpaint, which makes a big difference when trying to solo bosses and such. A sin, does not get that good of a rank 8 weapon right? and the interval does not increase beyond the -.5 gained from the chest piece....so maybe if the archer was rank 8 I could share the other none rank gear TT stuff between the two toons.

It's easier 100% of the time to make a squad than to wait for a random one to pop up anyway, even as a cleric.

Vanity fists + the Spark bonus at 3.33+ can help a lot with healing actually. With enough Max HP Vanity heal is comparable to BP tbh. Most bosses you'd solo will either be at range, or a fair bit below my level. Almost tanked Peachblossom once (BH Abba) at range. Probably could've if I had bothered to pot, but with the rest of the squad somehow getting a case of death would've been rude.

I've been contemplating it myself if I should make a Sin for farming purposes only.

The Sin R8 weapon is quite strong. It has a high base phys attack, higher than TT99 and G13/G15 NV, but refines lower than G13/G15 NV. +4% Crit, and 2x Max Phys Atk +185. No interval on the weapon, which is a turn off for most APS players.

Sin R8 Chest does acquire -0.1 interval like the Archers.

I have the rank already purchased just wandering which toon to spend it on because I don't plan on spending anymore money on the game....I used to play for HOURS:) literally.....I have way too many hours spent gaming. I am just wondering which toon to settle on so I can log in and have some fun, make some money for an hour or two once in awhile. My daughter and girlfriend play sometimes also and its nice to be able to help them. So I guess what the real question is...which R8 toon offers the most cash revenue and independence. TW is fun on archer no doubt.....If it was more often, or if I was on a PvP server I think I would go R8 archer for sure...but TW is just not enough of the game to base a decision on:)

Which i however will never understand, ok if they take sins only, but. +12 GV archer outDDs most BMs (I did not check how well +12 GVs do vs +12 Nirvana Claws/Fists) the only advantage BMs have is that they can wear Nirvyfists/claws without restating and they have HF ofc. As stated be4 when you got enough MaxHP the healing effect of GV is almost as good as BP. My 2 cents here.

A level 100 sin without R8 is just trash, an archer without R8 will be fine.
