Any thoughts or suggestions?
I'm really, really set on going for nirvana - mainly because I'll be able to share it with my other characters.

What is the purpose of the two sets of nirvana (Twilight and Lunar) armor?
Why are you using Encer's Scar instead of a NV Helm?
WHY IN GODS NAME IS YOUR GEAR ONLY +5 AT MAX!?Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Don't go full citrine. Just don't.
@Perses~ I assume to get +10 atk levels, but IMO, it's better to just go with like 5 pieces of one kind of Nirvana instead.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Ences scar is a perfectly fine helm O_o
I do take issue with the refines and sharding, especially as you don't have a properly refined pdef ornament. You can go full citrine if you have something else making up for your lack of pdef...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

If she is willing to spend the 40-60 mil for the item to get the helm, might as well put it towards a NV helm so you can get the full 6 piece set bonus of it. (especially considering that cannies as so damn cheap atm)Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Obviously I don't plan to stop at +5 and with only G8 shards. I'm just prioritizing different things right now.
I don't think I'll ever get a FULL nirvy set - it would just be too expensive. Which is why I aimed for cloudcharger and ences.
(Which I was aware that the price of both would be LESS than the price of 250 cannies - and still 'end-game' gear pieces that refine well with lots of potential)
I'm not planning to go for 'level stones' (DOD, DOT, JOSD) - But I would like to be a split mix of G11 citrines and garnets by end game. This is literally just a starting point - but the gear I would ultimately like to be using as an endgame.
After the gear is at an adequate place I'd like to start saving towards nicer orns.0 -
Just a thing...Get the single set of one type...either single twilight or single lunar. This allows you to benefit from set bonuses beyond the 2 set piece (it goes 2, 4, 6) bonus of +5 attack lvls.
As for your G11 shard idea, two DoT = 1 G11 shard, just a fyi on that.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

I was under the impression that 1=1 as far as the DoTs and G11s went..
I don't personally feel like I can aim for one type - also if I DO end up changing my mind the lunar is tradeable - so I could always sell that and replace them with twilight?0 -
Lunar is tradeable as long as you don't use a binding charm on it which would make it bound, twilight is Bound on equip which means to buy it you would need to find somebody who didn't equip the piece (before making it nirvana or after).
And yes, 1 DoT (normally priced at 10-15 mil) is equal to 2 G11 Citrine and Garnet gems. (Garnet gems are actually 5 mil more than 2 DoT even at the higher end of 15 mil, Citrine gems can sometimes be 10 mil more than 2 DoT at 15 mil each)Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Was it ever posted what the actual stat bonus from a defense level was when put into terms of p/m-def?
Cits here are 15m and Garns are 25.0 -
1st, gonna mention that G14 jungle belt is character bound and refuse to go into account stash + require craftsmanship lv6 to craft with jungle stone. G15 and G16 are fully tradeable though.
2nd, as far as psychic are concerned, I'd favor a full set for def lv set bonus. Here are comparaison build between lunar and TT99 nirvana set, same refine, same sharding, rest of gear is same also and only sage black voodoo as buff. Yes, all sharded with immac garnet x 3, toy with the build as you see fit. I personally favor def lv and pdef once the refinement for hp is high enough for survival(and yet, reference build show TT99 to be better for that and I still prefer lunar version...).
Getting the 6th piece may or may not be as needed as 5th one, since it's only 3def lv extra, very silly in a way from pwi.0 -
Basically a DoT is +1 attack lvl which is a +1% increase to damage.
DoD is a +1 defense lvl which is +1% to reduced damage
JoSD is +2 defense lvl which is +2% to reduced damage...
Math wise I think an archer or a sin would be better at answering it but, in a real example..let's use a psychic.
Lvl 101 psychic vs Lvl 101 BM (assuming both equally geared)
BM's normal damage without anything sharded on psychic, the damage is going to be between 500 and 3k (3k being the high end from crits)
BM's normal damage with JoSD sharded on psychic, damage is 100-200 (actually less when you count in how SoV (Soul of Vengeance) returns a majority of the damage dealt).
Just a prime example I've personally experienced.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Well I'm definitely leaning more towards lunar...
Would +1 defense level gems be better to put into gear versus g11 garnets?0 -
Don't bother with sharding +1 defense lvl gems into the armor, instead save them until you get enough to socket all your armor with JoSD (Takes 3 DoD to make 1 JoSD via jewelcraftsman).Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Been a while I read a thread made by our math archer on atk/def lv, so memory is foggy. I do remember it wasn't as straight as that and there were diminishing return with higher difference in atk/def lv between atker and target.
I'd agree with _Perses_, DoD are kinda a waste if you're gonna shard def lv. I still think that immac garnet make for best budget shard until JoSD(mix part citrine if you wish) as far as arcane are concerned.
And gonna correct something about SoV, it's doesn't absorb damage at all, you're thinking of Soul of Retaliation here.0 -

No i meant how a highly refined psychic with their soulforce is able to return a decent amount of the damage dealt to them...
example being i've hit a psychic for 250 damage and got a SoV return of 1.5k.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

This is Aijou, by the way.
I am like seriously torn on what to do.
I'm just glad I have a while to think before I'm even 100.
JoSD as WELL as a full 6 piece NV set is honestly, quite out of my reach.0 -

Well if you can farm caster NV, making a set of NV armor is a lot easier (as caster drop rate on boxes and cannies is higher than normal NV, which is dominated by us APS people xD). Though full NV armor...isn't really expensive, each piece will be about 100 - 150 mil total based on how much you pay for the lunar pieces (if you don't farm them...or you farm and buy them).
Just remember each piece for second cast will be 250 cannies, so 250 x 6, so 1,500 total cannies and then if you want to get the second cast NV wep that is 230-250 raptures (it depends on what weapon you are going from) so for those alone it would be 276,000,000 to 300,000,000 total then add in the wep price from what you are coming from (which makes it 300 mil minimum).
JoSD (if bought) will cost you about 100-120 mil (per gem) and considering NV usually comes out 3 socket you would have to take 6 x 3 (Helm, Cape, chest, pants, boots, wrists) which is 18 so you would have....1,800,000,000 to 2,160,000,000 (this cost decreases if you just buy the DoT (x9 since it takes 9 DoT to make 1 JoSD (3 DoT = 1 DoD, 3 DoD = 1 JoSD, so 3 x 3 = 9 so...9 DoT = 3 DoD = 1 JoSD) and make it that way via the jewelcraftsman.
I'm probably making this sound more expensive by the minute with all the giant amounts of coin I keep putting out...sorry bout that :<

I'm not really interested in JoSD. I know that right now they're the ultimate shard for end-game but I really don't want my gear to go in that direction.
I don't have any plans on CSing (majorly/for anything more than fash) and I want all of my gear to be worked for.
I am definitely seeing myself going for the 5 pieces of lunar (or twilight, possibly). I'll probably be taking it slow with my gear regardless, getting everything to first cast and slowly, slowly getting it to second cast.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I'll probably keep remaking until I achieve 4 sockets on all parts. (It's 2 cannies per try right?)
As for the weapon, I have 200k reputation on my psychic for a rank weapon. After my psychic is at a reasonable state as far as gear goes I might work on a nirvana weap for my venomancer (as well as any other caster chars I might want to create)0 -

Yes it's 2 cannies per re-try, but it doesn't matter about that as the reroll only affects the stats on the armor that have a varring ability (I.e. my BM's NV pants have Vit and Str that goes 6 ~ 10, which means if I pay the 2 cannies to reroll them I could get 6 vit and 10 str, or 6 str and 10 vit, and would have to keep rerolling until I got what I wanted again (atm sitting on 9 vit and 10 str from when i made them...no plans to reroll xD))
As for the weapon, ok. So the 200k rep wep will be 2 mil then you add in probably 40 mil to +7 it and i'd say another 90 mil to +10 (going from +2/3 to +7 with 1* orbs, and then from +7 to +10 with 10* orbs)Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

You can't reforge on the sockets. Only the stats.
I spent about 150 gold just to keep the 4 sockets on my Nirvana pants and wrists. I'm honestly not sure if it was worth it considering that would be like 7 1/2 ocean orbs. I do lay claim to one of the best Nirvana sets socket-wise on the server though. b:shutup[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Not really, you just need to transfer the sockets over when you go to NV (guessing you probably won't really shard anything good until NV) so it should be cheaper...ish.
4th socket on NV armor = 16,000 Socket Stones...
4th socket on 99/Lunar armor = 2,000 Socket Stones...
Kinda a obvious choice imo :>Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

But you need for transferring sockets. Chienkun stones? Do you know also how many?
Do you need these stones for first recast and then for second recast? Or need just for first and for second you don't need any.
Can you give more info pls? Sorry I never made anything from nirvana so I'm totally noob here.b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
tbh, you're pretty much better off just rolling with whatever sockets you get (unless the tt99/Lunar gold or 1st recast end up 4soc...then you can decide if you wanna shell out the money for chienkuns to keep it or not). Most people that do a 5/6 piece Nirvana set usually end up with like one random 4 socket piece from what I've seen.
Edit for Mumin - It's 85 chienkuns to transfer 4soc from tt99/Lunar gold to 1st recast and 128 to transfer from 1st recast to 2nd recast. So from tt99/Lunar gold to 2nd recast would be 213 chienkuns total. I ended up spending about 55 gold to transfer 4soc from 1st recast pants to 2nd recast pants and about 95 gold to transfer 4soc from Lunar gold wrists to 2nd recast wrists.
While the chienkuns were on sale for half-price, of course.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

lol, I have a feeling your just doing this for more info for her but meh I woulda said it anyhow.
In Nirvana for first cast and second cast you would need the Chiekun Stones to transfer the socket(s) over. As for the amount I personally have no clue, but I know to keep the 3 sockets I had on my pants and had to spend 20 gold on chiekun stones to keep it (20 chiekun stones total if I remember correctly)
Though I will say that each transfer has a different amount needed, so for 2 socket it could be less than what I had to pay to keep my 3 socket, and I am pretty sure 4 socket would be a bit more. With this method the easiest bet is to just wait until a chienkun stone sale and buy maybe 1000 (I am just giving a random number that by a rough guess would probably be the safest amount) of them.
Oh...if you wonder why I suggest transfering the sockets over, besides the amount of socket stones needed for 4th socket, is that the socket rate of NV armor is:
10% for 2 Socket
80% for 3 Socket
10% for 4 Socket
So it's just a better chance way to have a 4 socket piece of 99/Lunar gear and transfer it over to the NV armor than test your luck and try for 4 socket NV armor w/o transfer.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I just don't want to run around with all 2-socket gear.
That would be pretty sad :<0 -
Well the chance of you getting 2 socket on all the armor is astronmical...to say the least. Mainly because it is an 80% chance to get 3 socket, with only a 20% chance to get sometime else...it's literally a better chance to get a 3 socket than it is to get tokens from packs.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Well I guess now my only thing to question about is twilight or lunar :<0 -
To help simplify that one...
Twilight is good during debuffed state or if you are fighting with only your buffs
Lunar is good if you are fighting with all your buffs plus other buffs
Also Twilight gives a slight bit more HP because of +vit and +hp addon's compared to lunar.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~
