If there was one AC pet I'd want now...

I have been thinking about that for a while but forgot as days passed by.

Anyway, if I wanted devs to create a brand new AC pet out of existing mobs, I think I'd choose the Ocean Chanter.
A really graceful yet not really useful as a battle mob (can't tank, can't lure, can't DD), if you see what I mean, but she would be perfect as a companion.

I agree here... Some other AC pets as well as a giant wind walking piglet or butterfly, maybe a pet that is a octopus.

The giant windwalking piggy was the result of a horrible glitch.
The butterfly is already an AC pet, sadly not a DQ shop one,
and an octopus... You don't mean a friendly spawn of Ocean Tusker?
