    depends on gear/skill. Personally i only lose when they crit combo but 80% of the time I can beat an archer that is geared similar to me. tt99 / r8 / nirv

    3 arrows hit and kill the wizard but at the same time a gush facks up the archer

    Mmmm Its all dependent on play, but based on genie abilities, spark, and a smart use of soporific whisper (in which case you have to read status effects to read immune to movement stop) I'd say wizard wins. Not because I'm a wizard, but because Archer's don't have a blink or something to kite wizards the way wizards kite archers.

    It's probably a personal problem, but I am too dumb to fight archers. It's somehow the class I do worst against (real class, no jokes, so sins not included). Granted that's mainly for R9 archers, coz they freaking hurt...

    r8 archers didnt had this purge that procs on the first hit on you lol

    so i figure they are easier to deal with

    i mean r8 wiz >= r8 archer if its not me playing that wizard

    but r9 wiz < r9 archer thanks to that aweful purge always

    That's just for 1 on 1 I guess tho. And only if the archer is lucky with purge. Usually the fights I win vs r9 archers are the fights I hardly get hit because I fortify at the right time or badge/drop fast. If they got me locked up I'm done for...

    I can see dying to a r9 archer because they can be range butts but how do you die to a r8 archer =/

    Me? I don't die to R8 archers unless they stun quickshot me when I am not prepared and my badge fails. When I talk about sucking against archers I am talking about R9 archers, since I am R9 myself. Not dying to undergeared people is not really something to brag about... >_>

    No, that wasn't for anyone in particular. Just all wizzys. Rank 8 archers are candy for wizzys :p in 1vs1's anyways.

    I can reliably kill most EAs, even if full r9 (bar full josd +10-12). Just pdef charm + fortify their stun shot, blink into melee range, undine FoW proceed to smack on them. I'd suggest avoiding 2sparks off the bat if you can, because they might be smart enough to reserve domain/pots for that. If they don't fall over, dew of star, proceed to kill, if they pot the same as you, kite away until it's over, by that time they should have basically no defenses. Again, pdef charm fortify blink then feel free to sutra or fow undine sleep ulti them to oblivion.

    It's difficult because it's very much a kill or be killed scenario, unlike barbs or bms who we can reliably kite, and mages we can reliably shell against.

    Well unlike me, you are a great mage. ;) I should practice more against archers, I find it annoying that the stun basically works the moment they shoot it, like way before it hits you. Guess I just need to get my timing right, it's not like I always lose to archers or something.

    They're still scarier than most other classes... bar sins and r9 psys at least. There is no time when they're running up to you to articulate what exactly you're going to do, unlike melees.
