PvP or PvE Tournaments

I know we have the Arena but last I checked it still wasn't working. I was just curious if we were ever given a reason as to why we do not have something like this implamented.
I would love to know who the best player is out of each class on my server and then see the best of the best go at it in a 1 on 1 tournament style setup. From what I have seen of the Arena it is a group activaty and does little to showcase a individuals skill. Or even See the best of the best go against Huge monsters on 1 on 1 battles or even 3 on 1.
So I am just curious is this something that one can be hopful for or is this a pipe dream that will probably never come to fruitation? Or is something like this already in game and it's just one of those hidden gems that is never advertised?

The Arena used to work years ago... then, they broke it.
We've heard promises that it would be fixed for nearly 3 years... <crickets chirping>
PWE rule of thumb for future ref.

Seriously tho I am invested in this game and company both with time and money. I am not going anywhere. I want to see the success of PWI and PWRD. Unlike a lot of people I do not give up because "it's the thing to do" or Because I don't get what I want, when I want it. I handle things in an adult manner, I question, I suggest, I interject, and I move on.
And you keep thinking I am new, I've been here since 2008.. I am not flaunting this I am merly stating fact.

It doesn't matter how people present their argument to PWE. They are a business and ultimately the arguments are made by customers wallets. If everyone is complaining and crying clearly PWE isn't getting money from those people. It's not our job to tell PWE how to run a game it's theirs to respond and react to the whims of their customers. The only problem is that PWE is F2P so they don't have to follow the rules in the traditional sense, they only have to provide incentive for the minority that wastes large amounts of money on this game.
The F2P model sucks for consumers unless the company actually gives a damn, which is rare.0 -

We know the in's and out's but yet SOOOOO many players forget that it's not our world it's theirs and we are given the prilivage of playing in it. We demand of them.. I hate using examples like this but it is like when a little kid is actting up and screaming at you and demanding that you give them ice cream.. are you really going to do it and be happy about it?

That sounds like they are going to make the things they already have better..

As an Investor I refuse to just give up and have that defeated attitude. I will continue to Present my Suggestions in well thought out forms I will continue to provide Polls with player feed back so that GMs/Dev do see that there is a desire for these things. I will NOT demand that they do something. I will not Threatin to quit playing in the hopes that they say, "No no no Sage stay please stay here have everything you want mwa mwa mwa..". You and the rest can sit on the sidelines and complain but thats not me. and thats not how you get things done. sorry.0 -

Then you will obviously understand this:
PWE is a branch company of Perfect World Bejing, the parent company of any and all other Perfect World companies in this big world of ours. The thing about this company though, is that even if they claim that changes will occurr their time schedule for those changes are not simply days, weeks, months...it is in years. Which most can undestand as the code behind Perfect World International (our version) is a very complex series of if's, what's, how's, and why's. This means to make things occurr the people over at PW-CN (Perfect World - China) have to take what is being "Asked", since you seem to love this word so much, and turn it into "physical input". This process alone is a tasking process, and even more so when you consider the fact that the actual dev team who desgined and coded the core, THE CORE, of Perfect World code are no longer with the team (having left or being fired, I am not fully aware of), this makes it almost impossible for the current devs of Perfect World to be able to actually do anything with the game besides add onto it. This is basically because they can't change the original code (the first release of Perfect World, where the only races where the Human, Untamed, and Winged Elves and the two classes of each race).
Now moving over to our version of Perfect World, which is Perfect World International, we are considered the cash cow of the Perfect World companies. This is because that North American players are viewed as the type who want everything instantly and without any complaints from the providers. Which is what PWE (Perfect World Entertainment) has done through the many, many sales and basically putting everything endgame wise into the boutique that is in game. By doing this they please the amount of people who want it all without any sort of hassle, which causes those people to drop thousands (if not tens of thousands) of dollars into this game basically making them more and more profit. This then shows through on Perfect World's end of the year evaluations.
Now the thing is PW-CN isn't too fond of the fact that PW-I is like this so they have called our company out on this and our company is currently trying to "Fix" (used VERY loosely) this claim.
Now after having read this, please go back and look at Perfect World Entertainments track record on being able to fix ANYTHING in this game outside of text issues.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Name me one thing that has been implemented into the game that was suggested on PWE forum since 2008.
When I play other games, I'm actually surprised that players' suggestions were implemented, or that devs actually worked towards a balanced game. That's how low of a bar PWE has set for me.0 -

Their timeline you are correct it will take years.. BUT this is standard practice, this is not unheard of. If PWI was their only game Yes then it would be fair to expect over night results. Housing a huge # of games, having just Purchase a major game company in the US as of what march? They are dealing with a lot. Now like i disagree with Michael about the Dev's provide me proof that they were fired or left and did not just get transfered to another department.

I just LOL'ed I remember the last time they implemented something we suggested.
We complained that the free TB wings were too small. Made you look like a little fly to boot.
Guess how they responded?
Every TB wind got almost doubled in size. Basic wing we actually wanted larger when the others were fine... Still little flyspeck wings.
I don't anticipate seeing any improvement.
The only way I have gotten them to look at a serious issue seriously, it to raise holy hell about it.
Look at my thread about making your voice heard. I've been messaging them since I started that thread. I have yet to receive a response from anyone about anything, and I've been very civil.
You should go read some of the things that they say in the financial statements for the investors. Then you'll know exactly why things happen around here the way they do. There was one posted last year, I'm pretty sure that they didn't realize that those reports are publicly posted when they said it. I'll have to dig that one up again.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The Arena has never not been working. PWI never enabled it. In CN it's used for GM hosted PvP events.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
