Hello ppl i just create a wizzy and i have some questions about end game build.

First im gonna hit r8 and probly refines 5-10.

I like the sage because im not the 1v1 pvp type (tw looks better) and my question is: -chann or defence?

I will appreciate any build links here

Thx

Bit of both. With defensive armour you should still have a decent amount of channeling.

    You said you're going R8, so you'll have :

    -6% chest
    -6% ring
    -6% ring
    -6% Wrist
    (maybe) -3% warsoul
    (maybe ) TT99 set bonus -3%

So even without the maybes, you're at 24% already. I wouldn't use -chan orn in TW though, for -12% channel (casting isnt even affected) I wouldn't sacrifice 1000+ P.def (before barrier and buffs) and HP for the channeling.

Hurrdurrs gear recommendations are pretty good. Personally I would rather use Heavenrage boots for the extra crit and good OHT wrists with pdef and HP instead of the HH99 stuff tho. I would say you need a minimum of -20% chan because then you can Sleep + Mountain Seize to "stunlock" your target. The more the better, but don't sacrifice pdef for it. A dead wizard does not do damage and generally you can always channel ults in TW because there is so much chaos, lag and confusion. So the big "don't"s imo: Don't use channeling cape. Don't use channeling ornaments. Get Wing Trophy pdef cape or Cloudcharger or even Cape Of Elite Leather depending on what youi can afford. Best ornaments (assuming no R9 Belt) would be Puzzle Cube and Warsong Belt, good alternative HH90 gold neck and Last map Belt (Guard of Thundershock). You can also Look into the Heart of The Jungle Stuff. I think you cna get a G15 Jungle Belt for roughly the price of a g14 Warsong Belt...

instead of making a new thread..Im in process of making a wizard myself and so far the gear is gonna look like http://pwcalc.com/a54ec4eaa1c24688 the helm an cape could be better of course, but they and the necklace are hand me downs via account stash. Also the good gems will have to wait for a later date once im able to refine higher.

My gear is also 100% farmed-yes with a rank 9 sin- so coin is limited but attainable, so is there good reason to use a different ring then the rank 8 one?

Also what are suggested skills for a sage tw wizard? I'm thinking a white disipline genie with high dex and magic and medium vit. Holy path is the only one that I can think of for sure atm.

On my wizard I have OHT boots and OHT wrists with -6% +94 p.def. I picked it up with 4 sockets for just 1.2m, and it's all resist too. I personally would prefer OHT wrists with -6% and then p.def/HP modifier and wouldn't go for purely defensive OHT wrists.

TT90 gold sleeves bring channel and pdef. Unless you're going all out on pdef or HP stats those are one of the best options you have endgame (without r9).
TT99 for wizards sucks. Well, you can go for the insane channel , but you'll die to a +4 R8 archer auto attk before you can hit AD.
2 lunar rings are a must. 500 pdef gain, 6 crit, 12 channel. 1200pdef as sage or 1500 pdef as demon.
    Map 4 belt is free.
    Get a cube necklace.
TT90 pants are better than anything you can get before R9.
    Rank top
Heavenrage boots and the hat (can't remember the name now).
Cloudcharger cape (good from lvl 40) or Lunar 2x216 pdef one.
    shard ONLY HP

everything refined to +5 minimum and Immac shards in it

this setup should get you up to about 12k pdef full buffed and close to 9k HP with barb buffs if I remember well the stats on my wizard before i trashed its equipment for this sin.

    I would rather try this:
    http://pwcalc.com/db22e6f773795b8b
I just cropped the pieces together, without refines/shards. Look at that pdef self buffed only, look at those attk levels. Hp comes from shards/refines, that's the last thing to worry about if you choose your gear properly.
If you get as far as R9 on a wizard, the "must have" pieces are:
    1.weapon
    2.belt
    3.top
Either for the full set or half set, weapon is the first thing you must have. Then comes the belt + top for the nice stats, everything else is an optional thing (well, if you wanna max out of course you should go for full set).
FiveAps - PvE char made from half as.s unbound gear sold by a wizard, doing 18x the damage and 10x the money the wizard was ever capable of. b:laugh . Only in PWI.

As I said, it's a matter of taste. While channeling is a viable option I find pdef more important, especially as a TW wizard. I changed my cultivation to demon and would love to have more channeling, but the R9 set doesn't allow for more.. It's pretty useful in open pk.

-3% for gear bonus is a joke. The gears needed for it are **** (better off with legendary) and yield an un-noticeable difference in channeling. You're better off going for the +5 atk level of 2 Nirvana Stage 2 gears which also yield much better defense. I'd consider scrapping Rank 8 plans altogether. Stage 2 Nirvana top gives you 1% more crit and much better defense than Rank 8 top. Nirvana; even TT based is Account stash-able, while no rank equips are. Imagine someday having 6 toons that can all share the same equips on the same account getting up to 4 Nirvana keys a day each, along with BH rewards.

The biggest hurdle going non rank is the weapon which can be rationalized in multiple ways. For example: My veno with a +10 rank 8 imbued with 2 Sapphire Gems would probably cost more to recast and keep stuff on the R8 Pataka than to buy a new R8 Pataka to recast, and I can't even share the damn thing with my other arcane toons!

Not just that, but Nirvana has many more options.

Maybe not for a veno, but for wizards I think you need atleast -30% channel. -30% is what you need to cast an ulti before force of will's seal is over so you dont always rely on sleep.

The dex on the cape even if you get minimum dex + the dex on the boots give you an extra crit.
Everyone here seems to hate hh99 but personally I love it =/

Nice try, but -30% ch and better is easily obtained without the puny and negligible -3% you get from 2 over priced TT (yes we're in PWI 2012 here -wake up and get with the program) 99 pieces of ****.
