Does anyone have the cleric r8 recast weapon? Is it worth it?

    Can't go wrong with free purify during tw, assuming you don't get 1 shotted. It's not like you need attack levels to heal.

    This is my next goal. According to my guildies, it should be doable within a month provided we get enough people on to do third/fourth trial and I manage to farm/buy enough of the adamantines.

    Personally just shooting for either def level, purify, or infinite. Hopefully I won't have to reroll stats.

    a cleric in my faction got recast r9 glaive, xSkyTearSx.
    the adds she got were:
    Def lv +18
    Max Mag atk +178 ish (cant remember)
    +14 or so mag
    Max Mag atk +126 ish

    didnt SS but looked pretty good for a cata cleric ;o

    Everything there is great except the max mattk, especially on a glaive. Your avg doesn't change much as a result, so your heals are even more inconsistent.

    Still, nice stats either way.

    well i'll never be able to afford r9...... but just wondering if r8 is worth getting, or should i be spending the money elsewhere, :D

    regular R8 without the recast is good enough for me haha...don't wanna risk a re-roll (or with my kinda luck, multiple re-rolls)

    r8 weapon itself is ugly -> my most valid reason for why i want to recast it or get vana... xD

    The r8 recast glaive looks like a can opener. b:cry

    I've seen 2 eps with it, and for the price they spent getting it they might as well have gone r9. (saw one with accuracy, crit, and hp).

    If you manage to get the Purify spell then the money would be well worth it. If you aren't so lucky, it's a huge coin sink recasting that thing.

    So, if you DO plan to recast, don't assume the cost = the amount of mats you need to get it. Assume you're going to be recasting it multiple times until you get stats that don't suck.

    Yeah, another note about r8 recast wep...as a cleric, seriously don't get it until you're nearing or are finished with your armors. Like...when you're at the point where the only things that'll really help you are more def levels/purify/infinite.

    ((Though, tbh, this could easily be said of the other four classes r8 recast wep actually benefits.))

    yeh someone from my fac has it aswell rly sexy def lvls =p thought as someone above said the price is nearly as if you would try for r9 glaive, not excatly cheaper either

    i think r8 recast is a luxury. someone in my faction has r9 already and she's geting r8 for the purify =.='

    they should have 3rd stage nirv :x in the new expansion.

    Too bad for you that it changes appearance when re-casted. I think they made rank 8 weapons ugly intentionally.

    it cost around 400m to get. if u get ur damascene ores and hapatizon whetstones free. a member in my faction did the calculation a while back, so prices might have changed blah blah.

    only reason i got it is cause of the def lvls ;p (secretly wants purify, but need shards first) and it does look amazing. b:dirty it isnt the same cost as rank9 glaive though. atleast not on this server. also im lucky my faction does alot of trials, so getting mats for free too.

    i myself are on the honing part. had 20 def lvls on the weap, now down to 17 QQ. i shall get my 30 def lvls one day! b:sad

    If you really want purify, you could always go with the Radiant Wand (base weapon) assuming your base has the correctly upgraded part (I forget what it's called). That way you can keep your normal weap for everyday PvE and swap out for the other when you're catacleric'ing. At least, that's what I would do.

    It's price used to be over 1 bil but now it's 170mil. At +10, it's not better than the rank 8 weap (11406 vs 12686 avg mattk) but it is on par with Nivry g13 (11533 avg mattk). To me, it's a great deal if you value the proc at 170 mil =/

    Yes they lowered the price by a ton once Nine Trials was implemented. It requires a level 7 armory, 43kish fac contribution, and 17 big notes. Here's Asterelle saying the same thing in the GD.

    I love to see how r9 clerics with 5k HP and +10 R8 weap with Saphire gems go for recast. Purify will not help them get out of oneshot.

    Hmm...it's something to think about, but I was mainly aiming for def levels on mine since I just have a 5-piece Nirvana set and not r9 and I don't think I'll ever be able to shard jades.
