Question about honing

So I just recently recasted my r8 wep, and I wanted to know if I honed my wep, would my stats only increase or could they also decrease?

As an example I got 8 chan on the wep, if I hone it would it only go up in numbers or could it possibly get lower?

    To my knowledge it would only go up, but I couldn't tell ya for certain :>

    I just took a peek at the instructions that the forges give, and it just says ''newly random values'' so I suppose they can go down as well.

    Ya I'm scared about it possibly going down. The mats are all pretty damn expensive, so idk if I wanna try my luck.

    The maximum blue stat for -channeling on a recast r8 weapon is -3%, so if you have any of those then they can only go down or stay the same.

    The possible unique addon on top of those can be between -3 or -10 channeling.

    No, the chan was my unique.

    I have:
    -8 chan
    2% crit
    5% reduce dmg
    18 magic

    I tried for puri, but tbh, with so many r9s out there I really wouldn't last long enough for it to proc and as a wiz the more chan the better.

    Channel is -3%~-10%
    crit is 1%~2%
    reduce phys is +1%~+5%
    magic is 8~20

    Your stats are all nearly maxed. Why would you want to hone that?

    Yep. You could attempt a reshape for attack levels and possibly hone that to 25, but honing with the stats your weapon currently has would most likely have you end up with something much worse.

    I didn't know what the max stats on them were. For some reason a friend was telling me I could get up to 20 chan for a unique. So that is why I wanted to possibly hone. But when I looked at the r8 recast thread I saw it was only 10.

    I know this is a while different mindset, but perhaps you should not consider buying the matts- maybe you just during the course of playing the trials for fun with your faction, and them helping you, eventually you can just reroll it at a later date to get the add that you really wanted. What you have is probably going to serve you well enough till then.

    It can go down.
