Poll: Kritty's "Ugliest Mug Contest"

A few short rules to get out of the way before we begin the voting phase of this contest.

1) The thread containing the submissions will be unable to be viewed for the duration of the contest. If anyone states the forum name of one of the submitters, that submission will be in danger of being disqualified. I want to keep this part of the contest as fair as possible.

2) The voting will continue for 4 weeks after this poll is posted. At that time, the leader in votes will be declared the winner.

3) In case of a tie, a run-off will be held between only the tied submissions.

4) Upon declaration of a winner, further instructions will be given. If the first place winner cannot fulfill those further instructions, the prize will be passed down to the first runner-up, and so on until a fulfillment of the instructions is made.

5) Upon completion of the instructions, a code for a $10 PWE ZEN card will be PM'ed to the forum name of the winning submission. Optional: This thread will remain open if the winner would like to post a verification message as proof for future contests. If/when a verification is posted, this thread will be closed.

    Why is an official contest allowing such obvious .ini edits? Did the rules on .ini editing change?

    unghunghUngh of Sanctuary's entry has such weird proportions in the face it's very unlikely it was not .ini edited.

    Yet the prize of $10 made me think otherwise.

    ChaoticShelly closed down many threads about .ini editing, maybe this is some sort of double standard I guess.

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but some of these entrants are going to have to use a makeover scroll before being able to continue playing on these characters. Customer Service has already been receiving tickets about it, and .ini edits do continue to be a violation.


    As for the contest itself:

    1) The person running the contest never asked for or mentioned .ini edits in either contest post.

    2) There is no rule against posting images of .ini edited characters, there are only rules against posting the method for .ini editing.

    I don't really see ini edits on any of them, aside from that does anyone even know just how impractical and time consuming it is to mess with number codes as opposed to using the sliding bars on the character customization?

    Can someone please be specific as to which one and what was ini edited? Show me the culprit then I'll go into character customization and see if I can or can't reproduce the same results without tampering with the character file to settle this.

    Whats the rules on double voting Kritty, because if you use core you can see Shadowhihi got a surge of votes from the same person

    Ungh was the accused but I'm not convinced. In order to keep things fair, I won't say if I entered or and if I did which one was mine. I will say though that i have a character with extreme proportions that isn't ini edited at all. It's not necessary to make extreme characters so I don't see what the controversy is about.

    Which one though? It's anonymous atm. I know that extreme proportions are pretty easy to get without hacking the files. You just max out the sliders.

    I have the public poll for a reason. I intend to check votes out before I announce a winner, and the public poll allows me to verify the correct amount of votes. Thanks for the concern, though.b:thanks

    Well then here's my attempt at recreating Ungh. Not 100% accurate but close, I used a different preset to what they would have chosen so there's differences (Plus I selected different colours on purpose). I can also paste the code for proof that the edits were all made with sliders, but better yet the whiners can go and educate themselves by making a character and playing with the options.

    Your original complaint was the fact that the contest included those characters, and that it was an "official" contest. You have no room to talk, since you were completely wrong. The above poster (Reikara) was responding to my post about this not being an official contest, and the poster that quoted her was agreeing.

    This post was unnecessary, and highly flame-ridden. I'll have to ask you to stop posting such antagonistic remarks in this thread, as any further such posts will be removed without warning.

    I only included those who entered their own screenshots, so if he wasn't told about it... *shrugs*
