Cleric paired with Archer or Seeker?

My hubby has a cleric and ive got an archer and a seeker i enjoy equally. We want to marry our characters but we dont know which would be better for sure. Because i have no idea how well archers do at higher levels as tanks with a cleric companion. If a seeker is the better option then thats what we will go with, but i have no idea as i have never been higher than lvl 67 on anything b:surrender Input would be appreciated. b:victory

Personally, I love dual-clienting with my cleric and my seeker best. Seeker needs fewer heals so I can DD some on the cleric.

It depends on what your plans are for your character. I prefer archers since I like purely ranged classes. Also, archers can stat for 5 aps with fists fairly cheaply compared to other classes (though they are the weakest of the aps DDs since they lack the str or fist mastery). Either class can tank, and tanks better depending on how much you gear it. Any HA class will have an easier time, naturally, so the seeker is the better tank to start with. Seekers also get the benefit of BP, whereas archers do not (not that a sin was factored in, but it is a consideration).

I am also biased as I know next to nothing about EGs =/

it would depend on what kind of soloing you want to be doing

some may not consider it a factor, but build of archer (whether it can use claws or not) is also something i would look at just because of the nerfed damage at close range thing b:shutup

i'd like to think that archers kill faster (again...depends on what you'd be killing and your build, typical archer may have a harder time soloing bosses) since they can do that OP 5APS thing, though seekers can also make fairly powerful DDs, ignoring their super-slow channeling thing since some gear can improve that (haha who am i kidding; their only access to -chan gear would probably be through robes and ornaments)

personally i prefer seeker because of, as stated in above posts, their better overall survivability due to HA as well as BP if you happen to have access to it...

PVP-wise, archer/cleric combo. PVE-wise, BM or sin/cleric combo.



Seeker is really trash outside of solo-AOEing with BP.

Can't count how many times I seen an archer get one shotted in bh100. BM is best hubby though, very versatile and can save your *** better than anything else. Also have decent dps, hp and defences. Oh and a nice defence skill. But since you asking about archer and seeker I would say go with archer. You will compliment each other better in pvp.

A seeker is nothing more than a mediocre wiz in heavy armor, its a good tank, but dps and versatility is rubbish, he would also lose aggro alot if you group with other ppl at higher lvls. Don't believe the earthguard propaganda, both eg classes are ****.

My hubby is a Seeker and he has only died like 3 times since we got married due to my lag you just have to watch ur heals at first but otherwise you are safe.

Mystics are actually pretty nice support in PVP. Seekers, on the otherhand...well, I can't really find much of a use for them outside of what I already stated. I guess they'll become a little bit better support PVP-wise once the new skills are out, but...bleh.

if you have the money to gear up archer into that 5.0 blahblah fad then it might be worth it to archer/cleric but even then its a bit squishy. So far archer is the cheapest class to 5.0 without spending as much as the other classes and with them not requiring HA armour to begin with, unless you pimp them up you kinda end up with a semi-glasscannon. =/ There are only a handful of good archers that boast firepower AND the hp/defense that wont kill them through ironheart.

i personally prefer seeker/cleric due to the hits that seekers can take and with the back up of cleric, bonus of buffs and some cleric DD.

This is part of why I went sage archer, I saw too many demon fist archers dropping like flies on TT runs.

I think right now most archers are going sage, unlike at the start of PWI. That whole 'omg omg demon quickshot' thing is like your dad's music you have to hear on long car rides.

Hubby and I are cleric seeker pair - LOVE it. We can duo almost anything with his vortex. It's awesome. Fast kills and safer than some of the squishier dd's. We have talked about marrying some of our alts since we are married irl, but I dont think any other pairing will compare for us. Maybe I make him roll a male cleric for my seeker.....

think it's more like "omg omg demon spark", the same reason so many sins are going demon though sage skills are generally considered superior

Except the only things sage archer has over demon archer is added range and sage Take Aim. Demon archer is better on everything else.

personally i am married to an archer and love it, were both a good combo tw/pvp wise & bh's and such ;O. although how well either your archer or seeker is geared also plays a roll id say upto you since you like playing both

to each their own i guess...the things that really drove me to go sage for archer were blazing arrow, the mastery, and barrage

you forgot to mention your archer partner has R9 gear.

once you get R9 it doesnt really matter what pairs with what class really.

If you look at the OPs character level, i think mentioning R9 archer as a 'i love this pair' is very deceiving. Either that or you didnt pay attention to the first post and the OPs level

Firstly, from what I heard from even some seekers on some servers, the people playing the class just simply blows- So its a bit of bad judgment call to make, because of the lackluster players that play them-

My game wifey is a cleric, and we pretty much can do anything PvE wise, even spawn point duo deltas-

In TW she is my personal cleric, and if you can coordinate playstyles- like me I kite and move alot, so she had to adjust from being a cata cleric, then you as a cleric/seeker combo in PvP can be lethal.

If you can insanley gear an archer, then yea, maybe ok for him. But a poorly or subpar geared archer, will leave him being nothing but a heal bot for you, which will be quite boreing. with seeker, he would have room to play with his own DDs, and maybe have more fun duo things-

i'd say archer just cos my first in game "partner" was an archer when sins are such wasnt alive or eg. archers do ok with everything. can aoe/ tank some things. that is if the choices are between archer/seeker. even w/o bp. but bm/cleric is best combo over all. i think sin/cleric do ok for farming i still like that demon hf better and bms are less squishy.

but with archer at lower lvls you do ok public quests/rb gamma/bh/regular quests/ culti. i've healed/dual tt 3-1 with an archer when i was in my late 80/early 90 for my tt 90 gear. the archer was lvl 100 tho with 7k ish hp buff so his gear wasnt superp. r8/decide +5 at that time i think.

Just because you find posts unpleasing to you, does not mean its "trolling". I found your post misleading to the OP, hence i replied that is all. Nowhere did i try to divert the topic or post anything just for the hell of it. Please do not use your butthurtness to call pple unnecessary names.

i have a lot to say...but im not starting a war, a small advice for the future i got to say you do give good advice at times, can't deny that but atleast don't make it sound like an attack. if you re-read some of your comments it does seem like it. Thats all won't look further at this since its not worth pissing me off.

its just that i dont sugar coat my words. Most of the mature pple can take the truth without causing a fuss, thats about half the forum.
