So these are my current axes:

and I was wondering when I should stop refining them, mainly from a PvP standpoint. Also how endgame they are. b:thanks

+4 is fine for this axe. You can even +5 it to make it look good so that it's easier to sell afterward. :D The money you will spend in refining this weapon can be saved to get, for example, the rank 8 axe or nirvana axe.

edit: this is off-topic but if you wanna pvp you shouldn't be wearing ashura neck and belt.

Ty for the reply. I'm considering Nirv axes but I'm not sure how much of an improvement it actually is due to the high cost of 250 raps + rerolls. R8 is alright but I really like sac strike, recast is too tedious, and there's no resale value. On the contrary I think I'll keep these axes just for show even if I get new ones. Ashura ornaments work fine in PvP for the extra DD, if against groups/casters I can switch to magic ornaments.

Your average damage is about 70% (including the +max attack add) of what Rank 8 +4 would be. So on a zerk you are doing 40% more than the average damage of rank 8. Rank 8 refines better. Rank 8 has a higher crit rate. OHT has higher spike dmg. Rank 8 has better damage output. And it doesn't matter for axes too much but .91 aps base for Rank 9 and .83 aps base for dual axes. If I was going to pick a weapon I'd pick Rank 8 over OHT. G15 Nirvana over Rank 8. Rank 9 over G15.

Ashura's ornies are basically pointless except for the -.05. People don't want to use LA armor pieces and instead use ornie pieces but don't realize how much defense you lose by doing that. LA armor allows you to get magic/pdef back from highly refined magical and physical ornies. You have a few hp points less because of the LA refines but you have much higher defenses, really increasing your survivability.
Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory

Ty for the input about axes, makes me rethink r8 a bit.

You're right about Ashura ornies being for the most part useless other than the -int bonus, although the neck has somewhat of a use with +10% acc. When I need the def I can always just switch to magic ornaments at the cost of -.05 int, like in this build. http://pwcalc.com/5b3cc74a1f27205d Compared to a build similar to what you described: http://pwcalc.com/bb263ade97baeedc I would have more hp and overall defense. I guess it'd be more practical with an -int tome.
