5.0 Base aps Sage claw barb

Ok so this is something that i have been thinking about since the r8 recast came out, i think in general people feel demon is better for a claw barb due to 5aps vs a sage barb who needs a genie skill to hit 5aps, and a demon can use S2 nirvy claws where as a sage couldnt due to not hitting 5.0 even with a genie skill unless they got double int on the claws. So seeing as there is another -int piece out now even though its insanely hard to get i was wondering what everyone thought of a sage barb with 5.0 base aps, wouldn't need any aps increase to hit 5.0 would always maintain max aps, and still have the bless from sage spark, the build would probably look something like this http://pwcalc.com/f6e096c9ecd59666 so let me know what you think, figured it would be some nice food for thought on this ever dead barb forum, who knows maybe the start of some pro sage claw barbs. b:victory

    As a side thought i wonder which would be more survivable, a 5aps demon barb with revenge on their claws, or a 5aps sage barb with bless, figured i'd toss that out there also.

    Im not sure about the second thing but if you honestly feel like you can get that gear for your barb then you should go for it cause that build seems to pawn.

    Well at the moment i have all but three demon skills so i won't try it myself but i'd love to hear what others have to say about this idea.

    Depends if you mostly pvp or pve. If pvp, definitely stay on demon. For pve, the sage 5.0 build is much better for tanking but cost way too much for me. b:shocked + all the money from learning demon skills will be lost. If money is not an issue, the sage build is much better in tanking.

    The chances for rolling -int on the boots is pretty low, but still possible... The plate has better chances but it's still only a chance.

    I am going for at least one -int on the chest. (Not looking forward to the re-rolls b:sad ) This way I can upgrade from tt99 boots/wrists -and- wear mdef ornaments without having to switch back and forth between gear to be 3.33 aps base. Then for the lulz I can put my tt99 HA and LA gear back on and be 5aps base. b:chuckle Not as pro as 5.0 base sage but oh well b:surrender xD

    Demon claw barbs will always be cheaper and better from the core, should just stick with them b:chuckle

    While I prefer the majority of demon skills over sage skills for doing everything from aps, pvp, holding aggro, and pulls, I have always thought 4.0 sage barbs with pentrate armor make more of a contribution to a squad than a 5.0 demon barb because of titans and 45% pdef debuff (assuming they keep it on). The 5.0 demon would out DD a 4.0 sage ofc, but the squad would do more dd with the 4.0+sage pentrate than 5.0+demon penetrate.

    So yes, a 5.0 sage barb would be a great aps character. I'd still prefer demon skills for doing barb things, but for soloing the 5.0 sage would be sweet. Just the odds of the R8 recast getting 3 x -.05 is so ridiculous. Something like 167 billion expected cost.

    For the 5.0 base u'd only need one -int recast piece, but either way its hella pricey and here is an nice pic of a pro R8 recast armor.

    I just need to re-roll r8 reforged. I have forest wisdom / G15 wrists though. Probably will go 4.0 base G15 claws at some point.
