Sage Sin and Wind Shield

Note: This is in the General Discussion and not the sin forums because I'm looking for opinions from people in those 4-5 APS squads, which naturally includes clawarchers, clawbarbs, clerics, sins and BMs, at least.

Recently I acquired Barrier Thorn: Nirvana, which gives me 3.33 base.

If I were a Demon, I'd now be marketing myself as 5.0, since that's what everyone does: they list their sparked APS as their "aps". Of course, this makes sense, since they can maintain it permanently against bosses, which is what most squads that recruit based on APS care about.

However, I'm Sage. I'm at 3.33 base. If I use Wind Shield, that will bring me up to 4.0. Also, I can maintain Windshield for a rather lengthy duration, being that my genie has 145 energy and a 3.06/s recovery. However, if I use Windshield, that means I can't use Tangling Mire, Extreme Poison or Absolute Domain, which I might normally use sometimes.

In a squad, there is almost always at least two if not more people using the same genie debuffs, mainly Tangling Mire and Extreme Poison. In a well-coordinated squad, the sins might use Subsea Strike instead, but I haven't found many that do.

So, the dilemma I'm having now is: Should I count myself as 3.33, since it's my base speed? Or 4.0, since I can maintain that for as long as is required, at a cost that is none or minimal to the squad? And more importantly: would You consider a 3.33 Sage using Windshield for 4.0 to be 4.0?

    if u have a genie w/ 3.06 recoverry speed you should be able to use wind shield permanently(least i can on my sage sin, as long as you left wind shield lv 1) in which case ya you should refer to yourself as a 4.0 sin
    full 3r9 +11/12 (still using immac shards though) w/o CSing, leveled to 105 spaming pv, yes i have no life =D

    You also offer your squad sage BP, this should more than make up for you using your genie only to maintain your aps and not amp.

    3.33 is still damn good for a sage sin, as for debuffs, you can use subsea strike (sage was even 50 pct debuff or smth.), i see way too many sins simply IGNORING that skill, it`s good to use it just before an HF so you have enough time to spark.

    As for aps re tardation, stay away from world chat squads, those people seriously need a brain transplant, run and do stuff with more or less normal people not blinded by the 5.0 or gtfo.

    Yes, you're 4.0.

    It's sort of like a 5.0 character with no genie - that individual is still 5.0.

    Most people don't even check, i just check to see what the weapon refines are. If they are +10 or there about i use hf+gs combo with the other bm. Doesn't matter what the aps are, boss still dies quick. I skip the foxes as well. If the weapons are not +10, we time hf accordingly and be sparked as often.

    Plus a 5.0 dead sin/bm/archer/barb/veno = 0 aps.
