Hah, the first culti thread where I can say:

I played both and you can't really make any mistake with whatever you pick. It's also no absolue truth to say demon is for pk and sage for TW, or even demon is for PvP in general and sage for PvE. As sage you generally have more chi and can sustain it easier while fighting, I never even had to worry about having enough sparks and could focus on kiting and trying to make my opponent use his ressources. As a demon, gaining chi is harder, so I remade my genie with Cloud Eruption on it. The upside is, you don't need as much chi as demon. The additional disables on pitfall, hailstorm and stone rain as well as the longer Shrink and the shorter cooldown on fow help especially against melee classes. You get far more situations to channel your nukes, especially combined with faster channeling on snare and dpyro. Along with the extra crit this leads to more charm bypasses without sutra or ultimates.

I wasn't able to test demon in TW yet, but it's a fact sage has teh better ultimates as well as teh chi to drop them more often. But I am sure that the difference is not that big if you use a vit build CE genie in TW. I'm also still missing Demon MS which is the most helpful ult for demon in TW for sure.

If I had to break it down from my own experince I would say: Sage is more constant, more reliable but also more predictable. Demon is less predictable and more versatile but also more risky on many occasions. The stone rain stun often leads to a sudden and brutal kill because noone is expecting it but you might as well get no proc from any control skill and die a horrible death. ;)

In PvE demon has betetr DPS in caster NV while Sage has more chi to drop ults in aoe situations.

With wellspring quaff, my snare = sage's pyrogram/gush
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

Yea, basically. The only thing that annoys me is the long cast time on snare, lol. but pitfall/hailstorm freeze + quick charm bypass with snare crit is pretty nice.
