Unicorn question

I have unicorn mount but I can't feed it anything (I have tried all) and so it's gaining exp reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaallly slow... and so speed. Anyone else having this problem? So far, I had quite few mounts and I never had this problem before ._.
