Clerics in PVP

I wanted to know how are clerics in PVP + is the only thing they do in squads is just heal or they have some time to DD?

It depends. In TW, I pretty much never DD because there is never time to do so and my DD compared to the people I'm healing/ressing/buffing is miniscule. In normal day-to-day PVP, depends on the situation. If it's a massive pk war, I'm also usually not DDing unless it's to kill a purge bot veno or a phys marrowed BM. If it's just like...a few people and not serious or whatever, then go ahead, lol.

do whatever you need to support your squad at the time, whether its DD, debuff/buff, or healing.

It depends on if we're talking about 1v1 PvP or squad PvP. Our roles are vastly different depending on the environment

This. And in 1v1 clerics are decent enough. They have exceptional control skills that allow them to manipulate fights to their advantage. The problem is for a looooong time those fights will end in you getting stunned and dieing before it wears off. Once you can tank a few hits, enough to get away, then clerics are excellent.

Depending on your gear, whether you have charms, and of course play style, clerics can be pretty good pkers once you make effective use of the skills you have. Throw in seal of the gods, and you can be pretty dangerous.

Its all rubbish, you can only kill people who are weaker or dumber than you. An equally leveled player with matching gear and even a mediocre understanding of their class will wtfpwn you. Control skills are garbage when everything out there can see it coming and and anti stun, then you got the cool down, looooong cooldown, long enough for them to walk through your weak attacks and face plant you into the ground.

Alternatively you can kite, this is just a waste of time though as the longer you kite the more they recover as well. They will either tank you forever or catch you and kill you. If you wanna be a pigeon (flying rat) go ahead, otherwise stick to supporting in pvp or surviving till somebody else can save your ***. Unless of course you are blatently better equipped then they are, then feel free to crush them, it will be the only chance you get. Think of it as pre-emptive revenge.

This game is lol anyway, don't try to compete unless you can afford it, like literally.

Stay in a group ie ganking or TW and you'll be ok, go it alone and you'll probably want to kill yourself.

A full r9 cleric with jades (they are rare, cuz usually people with the $ to make this build go for the psychics or archers or wiz, but I have fought them in tw) are one of the hardest classes to kill, outside of r9 full jades barb, and r9 full jades psy. Especially sage clerics. We are talking 15k hp, and bm-like defenses once you factor in vanguard spirit, which casts super fast... plume shell absorbing 85% incoming phy dmg... a mega-fast purify... and the ability to one-heal themselves.

Clerics come into their own when they have both of the lvl 100 skills. Stacy, do you have the 100 skills? I seriously doubt it. Heck, I'd be surprised if you have even seriously pked before. Here is what the 100 skills add to clerics and pking:

Seal of the gods--->nearly impossible to completely avoid except by a lucky assassin; will give you 15 seconds to debuff target, gain chi, escape, run around target in circles... you get the idea. Extremely useful against melee targets.

For example, if I want to lock down a melee class for (nearly forever): seal of the gods.... count to 12... sleep... count to 20... silent seal.... watch for it to end... seal of the gods... etc etc etc. The only chance for escape is during the silent seal period, either by triple sparking, or timing stun resist to avoid the incoming seal of the gods (which will still seal the melee target, just not immobilize). During this whole period you can get getting chi/debuffing/escaping. Fun fun.

Elven boon--->seriously underrated skill... greatly increases damage output on heavy armor classes by allowing the spamming of metal-only attacks. Think about pking a heavy armor class on cleric. Typical dps combo would be something like wield thunder, cyclone, thunderball, cyclone, wield thunder, cylone.... and then a period where there is no metal skill you can use. Problem is, thunderball has really really sucky damage. And a really longass channeling time.

With elven boon, the new combo becomes this: wield thunder, cyclone, elven boon, cyclone (repeat). No gaps where you can't use metal attacks. Elven boon channels and casts fast (faster than cyclone) with damage that is comparable. No more using sucky damage thunderball, which is the equivalent of a wizard using their fire damage over time.

These 2 skills make clerics a lot stronger irrespective of gear.

Once a cleric gets enough physical defense, a wizard's blade tempest stops being so worrisome. A cleric who isn't brain dead remembers that, when pking, "Oih, I can heal and purify myself", which allows a decent cleric to fend off wizards, mystics, and psychics. In a pinch, a cleric can always fire off a sleep, even if the only outcome of the sleep is to build a ton of chi by spam healing oneself. Unless you one-shot the cleric, no arcane class should be able to outhit 7-stacked ironhearts. Heck, a lot of melee classes (sins aside) won't be able to either. As I said before, more people go for psy/archer/wiz for the r9 gear, but put a cleric into it and they become forces to be reckoned with as well. Not as much damage, surely, but good survivability.

Kanmi - Sanctuary

SoG is a good skill to kite, just like sleep without to worry about anti-stun .

Seal isn't always reliable to some class (and people who knows how to play their class) BM has leap which work through silent seal . Same goes for Sin with tele stun but the cooldown is pretty long for them .

Harder to SoG a Sin with Tidal Protection on, most of time i tried it failed .

Apparently you haven't done much pvp on your cleric or something.

I've been pvping since about lvl 70. I admit there is times that I get ganked and get wtfpwnedsauced. But clerics don't get owned by people of equal level, gear and mediocre knowledge of their skills. I've 1v1ed people equal to me and had victory. It's all about knowing your class and kiting. You see an anti-stun you run run run until it wears off sleep (Chromatic Seal) your opponent , Put up your shell, Debuff them, Spark, Frenzy, and Wield Thunder. If that does not kill them Great Cyclone, Silent seal heal yourself and try to survive as much as possible. Some Fatalities are inevitable. P.S you can heal yourself but I hardly ever do. xD

I suggest using apoth, genie skills, armor charms and food as much as possible to stay alive. Also Expel can work great against any Physical class, you can also hit your triple spark and time your expel properly and not be sealed. Clerics are excellent at pvp if you know your skills.

And kiting is not a waste of time! How do u think my lvl 83 cleric beats lvl 100 bms and barbs? I KITE! (can only beat those cuz they easy to kite ) I'll say the best class i've pked on is the cleric, and in a group im like "**** healing I'm gonna kill everyone!", and what happens? The other squad usually dies. BATTLE CLERICS FTW!!!!
