You get the highest drop rate from mobs your own level. Beyond that each person has their opinion on which mob drops the most items.

Since air and water mobs give more experience you might as well grind on those.

Which mob is easiest for you to kill depends on your class. Arcane armorer wearers obviously want to fight against magic attack mobs. Clerics like to grind on the mobs that put DOT effects on you cuz they can purify that away. Melee classes don't want to chase down ranged attack mobs and those are harder to pull together for aoe. Archers prefer ranged attack mobs.

Find a place with mobs your level you can easily kill. Helps to only grind on one type of mob at a time because that way your inventory doesn't fill up as fast.

well assuming that you haven't hypered your levels, you should at least know the types of mobs that you do well against all on your own.

If you did hyper your levels, go grind and learn. It's not hard.

Not the case for all archers. I very much prefer phys attack mobs, as they take longer to get to me so I can use Frost Arrow - normal attack and kill it before it hits me (can also use Aim Low and seal it in place so that it can't get to you to attack). Ranged mobs, after a couple shots they get to their attack position and I take far more damage. Also, mag attack is more painful than phys attack for most archers, so if you happen to take a hit from the phys mob it is still easier to deal with.

the higher the mob lv the lower the droprate for dq items the increased price doesn't make up with that
the higher your lv compared to the mob the higher the chance for NO ITEM AT ALL

working 1h in real >>> farming dq for 1h

My personal preference was Crystalline Wardens. Not the best drop rates, but they're purely physical (aside from a slow spell that they cast after a few attacks). Round up a few, tangling mire, subsea, rift, auto attack (I tend to put an inner harmony/dragon strike+spark before or after subsea when AoE grinding, personally).

If you aren't AoE grinding (do not do that if you aren't willing to pay for repairs or potions), look on ecatomb for mobs. Check their drop rates. Do your own research, if you didn't hyper like mad you should be in decent enough gearing to take on mobs your level.

The fish in the Sea of Isolation have decent drops and exp. I can handle them with my 81 sin, but they are lvl 88, so the max drop rate would be when your level is 85-91(within 3 of the mob's level) If you go to the little pool just to the west of the sea, you don't have to worry as much about getting multiple mobs on you. Best off looking here for the mobs that have the best drop rates and level range:

Though these may be the best mobs you could try:

as mentioned, at level 82 your best mobs are crytiline wardrens or demonic rougeknights, both drop elemental lights. Both are easy enough to take down 1 vs 1 and with bloodpaint you should be regaining as much HP as you lose (maybe a little less)

You also haven't outgrown the pirates on nightscream island yet. The Chiefs drop Oblivion Soup and I got a lot of gear from them to sell off for coin as well.

Demonic Rougeknights are easy...and very slow.

Elite Infernal Guards are easier and are within your lvl drop range...the drops aren't too bad either. Since they die faster, and deal less damage, the drops you'll get from them will be about the same per hour.

When you have full chi it's also easy to kill many (4-6...more if you have crabmeat) at a time: Windpush to gather->double spark->Inner Harmony->Subsea->Earthen...then norm attack tabbing to next as they die. If you have lvl10 of all those skills, +5 Hook and Thorn, lvl10 Focused Mind, and some skill, this is very easy to do. You could even use mire on genie b4 Subsea->Earthen for even faster kills. b:victory

Start with 1 mob to test your ability, then add more as you can handle. If you don't have the skill now, it's a good way to learn.

If you don't quest around, try out the divine quest, they expose you to more mobs. See which ones you like and go after those as you lvl up.
