How do you open packs?

Hi

I have been wondering whether i am at the "wrong" end of the probabilities of the packs. I have opened 250 packs and i only 2 perfect tokens. That also came out from the 3rd pack (i missed the sign). Just wanted to know how many packs other people open, where, when? Share the joys and horror stories. The above makes me not want to open packs again, but the thrill seeker in me wants to.

Is there a secret to opening packs? The credit card secret does not work well. Sometimes i wonder how many packs did the "merchant" shops open to get the items they got.

    Generally speaking the pack contents are seldom worth thier price. As more of the veteran players aquire the gear, it has become devalued to the point nobody should open packs. You would do best to spend money towards rank 8/9, even if only a fraction of the way there-then to buy packs.

    Back when packs costed 1 gold, I could open 100 an get atleast one goodie, since they are like 33 silver.....takes about 300 packs an maybe get a goodie. Funny marketing trick or just luck-who knows...but they were made to empty the gambling addicts of thier money.

    packs are gambling
    while you may make a lot of money on the first 10 packs, its more then likely you will open hundreds of them, and get nothing good

    consider it like playing slot machines in a casino, where you may a win a lot, but the odds not in your favor

    My ex wife used to go to the spire above Eden and sit on there to open. She got 2 Scroll of Tomes.

    I used to level genies in a remote spot as well, got quite a large amount of 10/10, 20/20 and 30/30.

    Maybe the amount of players around affects the RNG in a negative manner? Who knows...

    theres no secret just pure luck. You can test out all the rumours but in the end its you >.>

    open....
    - in an instance
    - where its busy
    - in a secluded place
    - in cube
    - by right click inventory
    - in a hotbar
    - close your inventory everytime you right click in inventory
    - open during rebirth runs

    i dunno what else stupid things i heard. Maybe there are more

    Only time i've ever gotten anything good from packs (DoT) was during a server shutdown, I said **** it and dropped 535k on a pack from cheze's shop and got it.


    ****er has never put up shop again and any packs I buy have been **** >.>

    Its all "Dumb luck".
    Its fun lol, but the chances of getting something good is pretty rare.
    Some people got it, some people dont I guess.

    I've had streaks of one item after another in secluded area's, and i hit a scroll of tome in the middle of arch. Pure luck based and the RNG is badly designed, so if you open 50 packs and get nothing, stop opening them.

    there were times where i spend 200 mil in packs, and got 600 mil back, and times where i spend 200 mil in packs and got 50 mil back :(

    Requires 2,000 packs or more to get anything good.

    Waste of time, money, and braincells to open packs.

    However, there does seem to be something to timing your pack openings. I have one friend who swears by it and he get all kinds of crazy stuff. Then you hear rumors about people who have bots that open packs at specific intervals, like every 5 minutes or some ****.
    I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

    You don't need a bot to open packs at intervals. A VERY simple macro would do it for you.

    You have a 3% chance of winning anything but perfect tokens. Thats all you need to know.

    Yea as much as everyone laughs or trys to deny it but we all have wondered if there was a trick or method to opening packs. I have done many different ways and methods to opening packs to see if anything consistent occurred and none really occurred. The best method I came across was I made an alt just for opening packs, went way away from any town/city all by my lonesome, and opened some. I found out very quickly that opening them like a clicking raging crackhead does not benefit you at all. So I payed some close attention to when duke shouts about "so and so just acquired such and such items" in the system notification (red lettering) aka system announcement. And what it seemed to me was about on the every 5 minute of the hour, all hour long is when most people acquired something other than the infamous 15 tokens. So, I took my nab alt out in the wilderness and opened some more of the packs once every 5 minutes of an hour and my results was much much much better than just randomly opening the packs like a kid on Christmas morning. Got some tokens of best luck, some hp and mp charms (platinum),a mount, champ scroll and a few other items. I think I opened maybe 100 packs the first time i tryed this. It all also depends on how many other people are opening the packs at the current time I think. But who knows for sure?!? But yea what I stated is what I tryed and is what I do anytime I open packs from now on and that method seems to have better results for me. It's all about fun tho, sure we all want to open packs and get nice items. But the loss of opening a pack and getting tokens is what makes it much funnier and exciting when you open a pack and get a reare item or mainly anything other than the 15 tokens.     The secret is to make a pin-size hole before fully opening a pack, so you can peek at the prize, and if it is terribad, sell it in a catshop.

    Since I don't open the token packs, I dunno if it's true for those, but I was able to open Heroic Chests simply by setting an in-game hotkey (such as 1) to my stack of Heroic Chests and holding that down. Result was the packs opened at the standard interval set by the game and I got a ton of "Mission already taken" popups, which I disposed of later by holding down the "Y" button.
