Should I still roll a psy?

Ok so I've come back to this game after a while and wanted to roll a psy. I've played one before and I like the play style. Now I want to PVp and tw with this psy which I'm planning to make my main but I heard psy r really expensive and need lots of refines. I don't think I would be able to afford good gear especially because I think psy aren't needed for a lot of high lvl instances( at least not as much as bm, sin, etc) My question is would it be a better idea to make a farming class like sin or bm first to farm gear for psy or would it be possible to get good gear for a psy without a farming alt (I'm guessing this will be hard).

    You would have to be a beastly merchant, basically, to be able to gear your psy without farming or cash shopping for it.

    Most of us (with r9) have a farming character of some sort. I went the Sin/Cleric way, others do one or the other.

    You don't need high refines, per say, but then I'd say there's little point to rolling a Psychic. The class is at least partially based on high refines as our Soulforce is refine based. You can get to +7ish without spending a whole lot, but it's +10-+12 that have the highest benefit to psychics.

    just did a tw today and I'm the lowest level in faction so i stayed back doing base buffs.

    When we failed our attack one of our high levels quoted 'that mutha fkn psychic....etc'

    This has come up in previous tw's we've done. I dont know who the psychic is, but basically out of all the high levels running around slaughtering each other, this psychic was an *** kicking stand out.

    just giving you something to think about.

    My Psychic is my main and funny thing is I'm actually using my psy to farm for my sin (maybe still thinking about it) Caster nirvanas are actually very good I soloed one the other day and got 6 raptures and 12 cannies in one run. Also doing TM with a barb/BM friend you can make tons (not so much anymore cause a lot of people have their capes) but just an idea I was making about 32mil every 2 hours when TM first came out. Guess the problem comes that you need good gear for that, so if your wondering hmmm use my psy only or make a sin/BM, I'd say go with the sin or BM at least to start off then gear out your psy later.

    lol yupp psys can be brutal in TW, sometimes you see things in normal chat like "fkn psy got me again" or "omg kill that psy" or my personaly favorite "SOMEONE MAKE THAT **** SUN SET" *in reference to my name :P*

    Ty all for the info and sharing psy tw experience. So sun, u recommend I roll a sin or bm first so I can decently gear up my psy?

    Yeah, cause with all the crazy prices now its too hard to start with a caster class, when I started my psy things weren't all about APS. And good luck with whichever class you decide on :D
