What are the chances of better gear than R9 in the expansion?

So, as the title says, what chance do you think there is of better gear than r9 being released with the new expansion?

Curious. I don't want to wait that long for R9 if I don't have to, but neither do I want to wait however long until more info on the expansion is announced. Because even when the expansion is formally announced for PWI, there is no guarantee that the gear will be announced at the same time, meaning it could possibly be a very long wait until we know the stats of this still imaginary new gear. b:shutup

Any speculation, proof, or anything else interesting on the subject? b:thanks

PWI is an evolving game, and there will always be better/new gear being released, as shown with these new Trails. While I hope for something like 3rd cast Nirvana, to try match Rank and diversify armor, will be released, I don't think it will happen b:surrender

As for getting gear better than R9 or R9 recast ... I hope to god no. R9 is already far too powerful for how and when it's gotten ingame. Alot of changes like raised level cap, extremely harder content and such would have to made in my opinion to warrant better gear.

I'd say 50/50. They would need to create new content that required that kind of gear though. They need to make the game more difficult, not easier, or it won't matter.

The only thing that will change is that some of those people will come on the forums and post complaints about how they spent this and that much and now they're not "competitive" at the highest level of PvP because someone else might spend even more than they did and be better than they are.

And then they will either quit, keep complaining or CS the new gear.

But there's nothing laughable about Rank 9, it's already way overpowered for any purpose currently in the game.

Of course the new gear coming will be crazy OP, thats where they made their biggest bang at with r9- It was so insanely OP more people were compelled to get it- versus the r8 phase which was a nice weapon but not as much of a gear gap in comparrisons-

r8 recast farmable to get lvl 15 gears with just slightly less of the new def/attk lvl additions to gear concepts- Who would in their right mind go buy a full set of r9? People pay big money to have a major advantage over the masses---not a slight advantage, that was r8-and very little of them sold- comapred to the r9 rush of purchase-

So I predict lvl 18 gears on the way, Maybe won't be called "rank 10" but will be the next 2kUSD advantage-

Rank 8 wasn't popular before the reputation sales because of the immense cost. You were looking at 640m for a weapon that was inferior to G15 Nirvana, which cost less.

After the reputation sales started and the price was slashed to 1/10 (45 silver for 50 badges instead of 4.5 Gold), the price of Rank 8 dropped to a level that was alike to TT99. At the same time, Rank 9 dropped to a level that was comparable to G15 Nirvana.

The biggest appeal of Rank 9 is in refines, guaranteed sockets, guaranteed powerful weapons and teh ridiculous amounts of defense and attack levels you get. Because really, if you want to guarantee 4 socket full Nirvana and get a really good weapon, you'll end up paying more for that than you would've if you had bought full Rank 9 instead.

It's not really that the items themselves are too good, it's more about how easy and cheap refines and shards have become. I mean, you can buy a Garnet Gem for 35m, making it from Shabbies would cost 686m. Or how they now have orbs on sale for 1/6th of the off-sale price. And that the Dragon Orb Ocean is priced at 1/3 of the price you'd pay if you made it from those 1/6th price 1* Dragon Orbs.

50/50 seems right. I wouldn't doubt that it is possible for better gear, but don't expect it to be cheap. Just take a look at the original CN prices set for this gear. The original R9 set was supposed to cost like 12B coin. The R9 Recasting is like 10B+. And I'm willing to bet if they came out with anything better than R9 you're looking at 10B+ worth of coins.

Everyone keeps talking about waiting for gear that will be better than R9, but none of it was meant to be easy to get in the first place. The only reason R8/R9 is so prevalent here is because of those 90% off chip/rep sales. I'm not so sure the CN population is demanding better gear just yet with their slower progression of game-play / gear. But it is possible since they did come out with the recasts.

Anyone else notice how long this rank sale/1* sale has been? I've never seen a sale push 2 months before... I wonder if that's supposed to imply an upcoming bait and switch...

My guess is the opposite: Chinese gamers are known for being very hardcore farmers, so the recast is a much more valid option for them than Rank 9, since they don't get the ridiculous sales that we do. R8 wasn't popular -like id already said- because it wasn imensely huge in power over what was already available-- NOW with r8-recast that puts r9 at the same lvl of value that r8 was back in those days---and at the current cost, its equivelent enough to say---for the cost of the small advantage, it isnt worth it anymore-

The r9 recast in all honesty, for the cost, won't be a huge increase in itself-

Reason for lvl 18 (assumeing its possibly another rank) gears is to 1) increase the chances the current r9s will repurchase because some more def/attk lvls with better refines = better eyecandy than an added 20-30 attk/def lvls (which is current trend)

2)Leaves another gear lvl (17) for them to add into game as a farmable deal-later down the road
3) in rank gears, they never really followed a pattern.

Very low. Not only did they just implement R9 recast, (correct me if I'm wrong) isn't getting R9 rather difficult on the Chinese servers? 1 MoG a week, plus what ever chips they can scrounge up? I don't think there is physically enough MoGs or chips on any given Chinese server for multiple R9s to be running around. With this 'super end-game gear' being practically non-existent, why would the Devs add even better gear? Gear which would be at least 10x as hard to get (if their current scaling terms are to be continued).

The most we can expect from those gear would be between 2nd cast nirvana and R9. And I wouldn't be surprised if it turn out to be a "3rd stage" for nirvana gear...

UMMMM does china even have R9? Does chine even have nirvana? Didnt they use our FB 109s to make our nirvana and warsong instances and china have lvl cap of 120?
I think this is only on our servers. Anyway no nirvana= no r9 recast for sure.
Also i dont think china has any of these rediculous sales that we get here. IDK
R8 is probably the best attainable gear there.

It's gonna be g17-g19.
G17 will be OHT recast. It will be slightly stronger than g13 nirvana. Dirt cheap to make.
G18 will be nirvana recast. It will have the same power as basic r9. Cost the same as r9 recast to make.
G19 will be rank 10. It will be like rank 9 recast with channeling/interval instead of attack levels. It would use warsoul mats to make, not like that would matter with pwi's sales.

Meh, I say it's a 50/50 % chance.
Yes, they could release more: Say, Rank 10. However, I'm almost done with getting my rank 9. I'm not going to progress further into another set of armor: past that. Especially once I finally get it all sharded/refined. (Though, everytime I think I'm done... they add more **** to farm that's "better" than what I can -shakes fists-)
Also, If they release more gear - It'll increase the difference between the Cash Shoppers and Non-cash Players even more, throwing off the balance more than when they did the 1 Day sale of 11/12* Orbs. Because, Rank 9 is a pain to get. If they release Rank 10, then: Instead of getting several pieces done via: No Cash shop. Within a couple of months. The Cost will be a year worth of farming/1 piece. Which, I'm not up to farming anymore.

A tiny fraction of the PW-CN player base has Recast R9 and those people spent a very large amount of money to get it. There isn't any reason to obsolete recast r9.

The new tier if anything will be G16 gear about equal to R9 or strong in some other respect. It won't be better than R9.

I cannot answer this question, but willing to see if there will be a G16 version of OHT equipment with 4 stats added onto it equivalent to nirvana and the same amount of basic defense as R9.

With random add ons such as VIT and everything as 4 stats. Yet it could also have new add ons as DEF level, ATK level, MAG def+, HP+% plus, evasion+% , p.def+% and m.def+%.

While it gives bonus add ons when it matches, like certain gears do. Such as TT99 or R9. This could prove to be worse, equal or better than R9.

But other than that, why would they add more equipment instead of raise crafting chances of getting a stat when you manufacture other gears? They have a very low chance of getting a stat.
