Fox Form AOEs

I've recently taken to playing a venomancer as my newest ingame project to pass time until Guild Wars 2 comes out. Being an experienced player, I sometimes get tired of waiting for other people to do a pull in fcc and I do it myself. In order to grab aggro, I bramble hood, go to fox form, and use malefic crush (because noxious gas gets interrupted too frequently). Over the course of a couple FCCs, I noticed that malefic crush cools in five seconds instead of thirty. Is this a recent development, or has this always happened? Also, if I level it up to demon (once I get there), will the thirty second cooldown suddenly take affect? I'm not aware of any veno I've met that can give me an answer, but I have 6 level 90 + toons so I get PoF all the time. If I get MC while attempting to obtain LH and the cooldown is still 5 seconds, I may as well learn it (I doubt it would sell for much anyway - yay mana burn in pve!). Also, I've noticed that befuddling mist is an aoe even though it isn't written like one. When it comes to curses I've only dabbled with amp and SD. Are there any other fox form skills that are aoe that I've overlooked (aside from myriad rainbow)?

    Well, tbh I have no idea :O

    A lot of people knew about the Befuddling mist fan AoE, but I've never even used Malefic Crush...didn't even buy it.

    Sage Purge is the only other foxform AOE, so far as I know.

    Mist : small fan AoE , round to 1-3 meters not much
    Sage purge : 5 meters round the purged target = 10m diameter
    Malefic Crush
    Myriad Foxform
    thats all i can think of

    I tried world chatting on sanc server for a veno who used malefic crush often, but unsurprisingly I received no response. I suppose I'll just have to level it up some and hope it doesn't get fixed.

    I usually just cast Noxious Gas, hop into fox form and then run.

    That too is a viable tactic; however, my question doesn't involve NG, because the cool down is written accurately, whereas malefic crush cools in five seconds versus the thirty as written.

    Also, I am gathering more than one group at a time and I prefer malefic crush to noxious because NG is more likely to be interrupted whereas I also get a pdef boost from being in fox form. If heal aggro wasn't part of the equation, I would be more inclined to try NG, but having played a cleric for a long time it is something I am very wary of.

    VERY nice animation on this skill though! b:cool Probably the only reason I ever use it and it's fun to freak out some people during a Delta run b:chuckle

    Tbh I never really paid much attention to the cd because of the Spark cost. Next time I log in and use it, I'll check it out and post what I find for you.

    Tried it on mobs outside of Arch and the cooldown is 30 secs.

    My MC is full Sage so idk.....maybe keep yours the way it is for the super quick cooldown. Sounds like it would be a good benefit to you when doing the pulls in FC. Personally I would keep the 2 Sparks for other Skills but I'm full Mag/AA Veno and wouldn't even think of pulling mobs in FC.b:chuckle

    I'm a little curious if Fox Myriad Rainbow would be a better tactic. b:question

    I doubt that myriad (even if an effect procs) generates enough aggro to overcome BB heal aggro.

    Ooh o.o I won't demonize mine then xD The only reason I can do pulls in fcc is because my veno is HA - I decided since I'm pure magic on mystic, cleric, and wizard I might as well have some fun with my venos build because I pvp with my wiz and bm anyway xD

    She's high dex and high str for aps, and with all the aps gear I already own she will be 3.33 when she hits 99 with windshield. I PW calced her build and she will actually hit harder than my HA nirv farmcher o.o Go figure.

    None of my fcc squads have complained or even noticed that I'm heavy armor though coz I always pass chi, keep melee brambled, amp, and reduce pdef and mdef on mobs and bosses with ironwood, myriad, and my kowlin who can reduce pdef and mdef by 32%.

    It's so nice to hear another Veno is using everything they have in the playbook! I also use the Kowlin for extra debuffs. b:victory

    Sage SD is very pro :3 it was one of the things that made the paths a difficult choice because only sage archers get the same % of ST as sage SD xD I've noticed a lot of the newer players don't debuff as frequently (I.e. - clerics with elemental seal/dimensional seal and barbs with devour) so most runs I don't even have to worry about casting over a stronger debuff. o.o
