Refining with orbs

There was a time when i decided to get OHT Weapon and got 3*Star Orb +Mir's but
I go astonished when my 3*Orb refined my weapon to only +1 (not +3).
Why this happaned anyone know?

unleashed an unspeakable evil, but a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me.Before the final blow was stroked I do opened a portal in time and send him into the future were my evil is grown.Now the fool seems to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku.

    Because you used it at +0, each refine attempt only refines 1 step if successful. 3* Dragon Orb only guarantees success for 1 attempt up to +3, so can be used for +0->+1, +1->+2 or +2->+3 (but is a waste for anything below +2->+3.)

    Sort of late to reply, but each lvl orb is best used to refine to that lvl.

    If you have +2 orb, you use it to get your +1 item to +2. If you have no refine, you put in 1 star orb to get +1, than you put in 2* orb to get +2 (along with the mirages) and so on and so forth until you get +12 (or desired goal). If let's say you get 6* orb and refine an item from +3 to +4, it will do the job, but the cost will be astronomical in the end. Hope this helps a bit.

    Personally I'd like to see a warning though when trying to refine a low grade item with a high grade dragon orb. But the devs are lazyyy
