I swear that I'm not creating this topic to flame.
But why people here use HP stones on their endgame set? Def rule this game in my opinion, I still don't saw a Wizard or Cleric using Def stones in their set, why's that?

hp stones? If you mean vit stones, then the wiz in question is stupid. If you mean citrines, then they're probably not wealthy enough for jades.

alot of people put immac's in as placeholders while they save up for 4 jades at a time. alot of people that only read the forums and play with pwcalc have no idea how expensive a full set of JoSD's actually is.

There are a lot of people sharded with +2 def level here, including wizzes.
If you are talking about citrine gems, it's still pretty effective with a low cost for endgame sharding.
I agree that def level is still the best but sharding full def level is very costly & some people just wanna enjoy their R9 w/o saving as much as they did for the set.
Going for jades along with the refining cost to full +10 is pretty hard for anyone who isn't CSing much, you should take a look at the current cost if you didn't.
People who got their R9s earlier has been more lucky with the DoDs cost which was pretty low & could make a def lv+2 shard for about 30m~ before.
If you talking about vit stones, that's just stupid to pay 20m more compared to citrine gems for some extra pdef which isn't even noticeable.

Defense (assuming you mean garnet) stones are really only valuable as your refining level increases.

Jades are super expensive, but likewise aren't as useful until you get your hp total up.

FYI: I wouldn't shard jades now at all unless I am super super wealthy to +12 all my gear, including cube neck (or g16 cube neck, even better). My rank 9 +7 armor and 10k hp, I almost never died to magic attacks in TW, always to sins and archers. And garnet gems provide with almost twice the survivability of jades against physical attacks, at 1/3 the cost - if the socket calculator is to be believed.

blood, the socket calc changes as you add one shard in change your base pdef subtract one shard from empty sockets. after 3-4 garnet gems and +12 g14 cube neck JoSD adds greatest survivability once you hit 10k hp.

try adding in your current def lvl while using an o'mally blessing as well. that changes the factors tipping the scale in JoSD direction.

I think I said with +12 cube neck I might use jades. Ok, I know I did.

People try to find arguements here, I swear.

not really trying to argue with you blood, jsut wanted to make sure you knew taht survivabilities from shards change with each shard you place in your gear. since you know you said soemting about garnets having greatest survivability

    That's what I do..

My Wiz is mid-lvl and R8. Now when I played Wiz before JoSD's were not in the game yet. What do you recommend I use as End Game shards and for what pieces?

I would have preferred garnet gems, but not being made of money I went with cit gems (if you want to buy me garnets I'd gladly imbue them, however). :B
