Should I shard DoTs or Vit?

If I was just looking to pve i'd choose to DoT but I'm gonna do some pvp also so I was wondering if the dots were worth it, or would this be a better armour set up? Much better defence but only 3.33 base. Eventually i'll have R9 and switch on different situations.

So, i'll probably end up DoTing a HA top + LA Wrists/Boots if I get HA with R9 to pvp with unless 3.33 base doesn't make up for the defence. I know it depends who you're fighting, and maaaybe eventually i'll have both sets, but for now, what do you think would be best?

Edited the build for what should be upgraded and gemming wise...leven at 3.33 really you don't need much more in PvP to kill ****. Though truthfully if you want to PvP I'd recommend putting the R9 on a psy or something that is a heavy *** nuker instead of a bm :>

Yeah, that build is pretty much the R9/int build I was referring too, although I'm not gonna get G15 necklace. So you think I should shard vit instead of dots?

I'm inevitably getting that calc sometime in the future along with this since that is what I pretty much have right now, minus the refines and shards, so switching between 4.0/3.33 base will be an option for me.

What if I shard DoTs on the HA plate + LA Boots/Wrists for 4.0 base and pve, and shard the HA/R9 int with vits? Or just everything vit.

EDIT: I should also add I have no interest in having any other class than a BM, except maybe an archer.

Vit is ONLY sharded in items below the grade level require for JoSD's. DoT's...meh it's price vs benefit, to me at least, isn't worth it

Not in all cases but yes, I'll be sharding JoSD in everything 13+.

Then if you understand that, you could go with as you wanted for the 99 chest and put vits or DoT. Up to you on that.

If you DoT on it, you'll need to put a good refine on it so that from not having HP shards you won't have to worry bout hp loss.


As for r9 and NV....JoSD. Nothing else, ESPECIALLY in the r9.



As for your class interest, then put r9 on an archer cause on a bm it is still a waste >_>

To be completely honest... Ever since CC was nerfed, I've always had better performance killing with my full R9 than I could ever have with auto attacking with g15 fists or TT100 fists. The only exception to this is other HA classes where I expect a pro-longed fight in which case chi is more important so I use fists until I can triple spark and hope for their genie cooldown for facerolling.

With near 100 attack levels, I'm still hitting 2K up to zerk crits 8K against those epically beefed up Jaded R9 +12 enemies whereas I'd only be hitting for like 150s with my fists. It's kind of sad how a DPH weapon can have more DPS un-sparked against these R9 enemies than a DPS weapon, but it is what it is. Fists/Claws are pretty much shafted for PvP; I haven't even touched my G15 +12 fists in PvP since I got my R9 axes. I still use the occasional TT100 fists for building chi though.

I still use my hybrid 2 piece R9 build for PvE (axe/belt because I had 4 socket HR boots), but PvP/TW wise the only way I can see myself killing another well geared and competent R9 is with R9 axes lol.

I used Vit stones pre-R9 era, but with everyone having epic attack level now, Jades are pretty much the only way to go now. I have filled my armor up with a bunch of Perfect Sapphires at the moment as place holders until I can afford Jades though.

I think i'll end up selling my G13 and get G15 more so for PvE and I can still hit 3.33 (maybe 4.0 if I get 2x .5) unsparked which is alright and I'll get full R9.

For gear under level 13, so I wouldn't be able to shard JoSDs, for PvE, do I need to shard vit if pretty much all my armour would be +10 (When I say pve I don't mean generally like fcc/nirvana I mean 3-3 + WB's)? Or should I shard DoTs considering i'll pretty much use R9 for pvp and when I switch to claws for pvp I'd possibly be sparking so the DoTs would come in handy.

I don't see a problem with DOTs in interval gear for PvE, so long as it's solely used for PvE lol.
