So far the game is pretty cool.......little disappointed with the lack of UI customization but hey...just adds an extra challenge b:laugh
Anyways...was just wondering if there are any absolute essentials that are easily overlooked for this class and not easily amended for a first timer.
I am already reading the guides here...which are great thank you to the authors. b:kiss
I am only at level 4 but already goofed. I mixed up the stats of the of the balanced build and the light armor build and thought they were both a W, S, V build but noticed the light armor is a W,S,D build....so I mistakenly put the first 4 points that were meant for DEX into VIT....hoping that since I am such a low level this is not a big deal but is this going to keep me from wearing gear at level because I won't meet the DEX pre-req?
Anyways...thanks for any replies and maybe see ya around in game b:pleased

1. As a cleric, you will find that you are always short on spirit points when upgrading your skills (until like level 75+) so it is important to make sure that you spend your spirit points wisely.
2. I use to play an LA (light armour) wizard, and if I recall correctly, you cannot put ANY points into vit until end-game if you decide to go LA (as a wiz or cleric) because if you do, you will not always be able to use the best possible weapons for your level as you will be short on magic points. So, with 4 points in vit, you may have to wait like 1 extra level before you can equip the best possible weapon for your character (ex. you will not have enough mag for your level 60 weapon until level 61, etc.). Not really a big deal, just perhaps a little annoying.
Getting to level 4 takes like 4 minutes (when you are familiar with the game) so you can always just create a new character and delete the old one if you are worried about the stat distribution. You can even use the same name after the original character gets deleted (though that takes 7 days).
Have fun gaming!0 -
3 magic/level required for weapons
1 dex,1 strength/level required for LA.
For AA its only .5 strength/level giving you 1.5 more stats to play with.
Its not such an issue later in the game when you have 10 levels between weapon or armor upgrades. Light armor refines for slightly more hp which makes up some of the difference. With a split AA build (magic and vitality, normally up to about 50 points max) you can add to your hp and your vitality will make up some of the defense differences between LA and AA.
I went pure magic (1 str every 2 levels for AA) and it worked out better because I could kill things before they got to me, and if I did get hit the stronger heals I had gave me more survivability than if I had better armor and weaker heals. I suggest going arcane armor and getting 28 vitality (can use a restat later to go down to 3) for the newer players. For older players who have some coin I suggest pure AA.
-Don't level Blessing of the Purehearted, save the spirit for Ironheart/buffs.
-Leveling Magic Spirit is usually as useful as leveling an attack because it increases your magic attack.
-If you buy FCCs to power level the amount of spirit the heads give is glitched (I think it gives some of the spirit to you as experience instead) and you end up way behind on spirit. Other than that cleric's have the least cost of their skills, but most of them are early on as heals, attack, buffs all needed very early.
-Learn to declare who is the tank and who you will heal. This will prevent idiots from running off, dieing, and raging at you for not getting healed. Let them know you were healing the tank.
-Rez scrolls are 50k at a merchant. These save you alot of time if theres no cleric or mystic in the squad as you can rez yourself right there, but you still lose the exp.
-Protect yourself. #1 rule of clerics is protect yourself. Dead clerics make lousy healers.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0
