Question about open proxy/Banned region ban

Now before you say submit a ticket this thread isn't completely about the ban it's a question about how it could happen.

A family member of mine was playing the game and got banned for having been in a banned region / having an open proxy. well since she is in California it can't be that she was in a banned region.

Now here is my question she was using a Sprint 3g internet card on her laptop. Does this give you an open proxy? or what could have possibly caused this?

    I'm not in any way an expert on that sort of thing, but a quick googling of "sprint 3g open proxy" lead me to this thread. The gist of that thread leads me to understand that Sprint has their own proprietary DNS servers.... perhaps that has an effect on it?

    If that's the case, that would possibly answer a lot of questions for people in the US getting wrongfully banned for being in a "banned region". I'm not sure, because I'm not sure how prevalent 3g internet card use is. If that is the case, perhaps PWE should look further into it so that they don't wrongfully ban people who are actually not in a banned region.

    well i dont think that is it because i have the same problem...i was banned because of proxy or region and im on DLS

    My main account was banned as well for this. Im from Virginia. I think PWI has issues with the system they set up for Auto banning

    Yup that's an auto-ban. GMs don't like it but they can't remove it either. It's important part of PWE licensing scheme. You can always send a ticket (even though you can't log in with your blocked account) and explain it.

    < Was once banned for that very reason even though I only log in through my home PC.

    same here, my main acc was banned for that and i'm in New Jersey on a PC, does anyone know how long the ban lasts? it's been 3 weeks for me and i sent in a ticket on this char and the answer didn't really help

    yeah autoban and it can span several accounts if u have on the same IP.
    I had the issue when guildlaunch.com a guild building website advertised Pingcraft Lagkiller. Got autobanned in less than a minute, next day my other accounts followed suit without even logging in b:shocked had helluva time submitting tickets and explaining the reason why. FYI dont use Pingcraft >.>

    in had the same type issue on mine.They send out a email on the ban/suspension.If you cannot log on to submit a ticket then use the customer support email link they give.Though my issue was a little severe,i sent my emails via customer support,ask questions and be patient,within seven days i was back online,and it was a mistake on their end.
