[Server Network Error] 10-9-2011

Hey all,


Some users are experiencing an issue where, upon trying to log in, the process appears to hang at the "Logging into the game, please wait" message.

They then receive the "Server Network Error" message.


Our engineers are working on it, and I'll continue to update this thread as we get more information.


Update: Some players are also having trouble transferring ZEN to a server. This issue is being worked on as well, and we'll have it squared away as soon as possible.


Update:

Our team was able to resolve the issue as of approximately 3:30 pm PDT on Sunday. Thank you everyone for your patience in the matter.

    funny.... i put a thread here in GD so more people would see it and it gets closed..... told to go to one in tech support that started 2 weeks ago bout something diff THEN migrated to today's issue... then THAT one gets closed and a sticky's made in GD where i put one in the first place.... LMAO ya... b:surrender

    i'm havin this problem and i just bought zen like 2 hours ago ive relogged 3 times and checked all servs i bought 2 20$ prepaid cards from walgreens and i hope my money isnt wasted plz helpb:sad

    ya seems logging in to the game isnt' the only problem with the server atm.... sure it's there, just all screwed up (i hope).

    Yeeeah... Let's not get into the subject of mods closing threads. I think there was a thread that talked about that earlier. Anyways-- the server issue seems to be affecting Perfect World only. I had no problem with getting into HoTK and playing for a while. So.. here's to waiting. Cheers.

    I wonder what is responsible for this..

    Someone mentioned SkyNet in another thread. (Where the hell is John?!)
    Somewhere someone is thinking Anonymous. (Why the hell would they target THIS game?)
    Someone suggested an overload of players signing in at once. (Plausible.)
    Someone suggested that somebody wasn't maintaining the server like they should be. (Plausible.)

    But I wonder what the truth is.

    That or its like some of have said; people will eventually tired of pwi shafting them over glitches; hackers; and the like. I would lay my gold to say that its probably someone who has a basic understanding of networking and how to ping someone; and got butt hurt at pwi not helping them with something that would be enforceable by tos. that kind of thing. that or they are gearing up for halloween event changes or updating the anti **** software on the servers.

    also at 2pm est; i went to collect the jolly old jones 250k dq points for 100k gold and it still hasnt shown up (3 hours later). personally i hope it is some one taking action.

    I was logged early this am, bought gold and tried to relog to spend it and continually getting the network server problem message. What is unfair is that my hubby is sitting next to me with not a problem in the world, he's logged a couple times and gets back in with no problem. :-(
    I now begin hour 3 of trying to log in...wish me luck.

    I can't log into Ether Saga nor Forsaken World in addition to PW, but my hubby can log into PW but not the other 2...Glad it's not a conspiracy against me. lol

    You cant handle the truth... no seriously, you cant, if the truth were to be known to us, we'd die of laughter from it being such a stupid reason..

    heres a few likely scenarios that i think may have happened..

    a) Someone was drinking something in the server room, probably with a large alcohol content, and tripped over the power cord, spilling the drink all over a server rack, shorting out 14 hard drives and 6 cpu's

    b) Some joker at PW-CN decided to play a practical joke and send the "self destruct" command over the wire.

    c) Frankie tried to divide by zero, resulting in a BSOD error 0x000000ID10T

    d) Someone forgot to pay the ISP bill.


    May also have been the gold spammers all trying to use their bot programs to spam chat and ended up causing a ddos..

    Or they're downloading some hardcore material... I mean that's what we blame lag on in online terms isn't it?

    If it concerns ZEN they will try to resolve it 24/7 if they have to lol, if only they would act likewise when it comes to actually fixing stuff.

    Yeah.. I miss the days when it wasn't all about the money. Before Earthguards and Tideborn.. Before Genies.. Before the packs.. Before it all went to hell, you know? The days when buying a single piece of gold was like an achievement of hard work. When it was 85K and whatnot per gold. Back then, people actually had to WORK for their stuff. Back then, the MODs were bent on solving issues and getting the help players needed. On the spot, none the less. Ah.. the good old days..

    well seems they fixed it, just went from one accoutn to the other only took a couple secs to log in now like normal.

    they were never down. it's an issue with the login server taking forever to process requests. And it's intermittent at that. Sometimes no trouble, sometimes it hangs.

    I'm able to log in to the servers and transfer ZEN without trouble now; to those of you who have been having trouble, can you try again and see if it's functional?

    Login server issues should now be resolved. Checked for all games by us here in the office and by the engineer team who have been working on it.

    No new issues have been coming in for the Zen related transfers since the issue was fixed in the last 15 mins or so. b:surrender
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    Well, I sent in a ticket a few days ago about something that happened with my zen. I put in the prepaid card and didn't even get the zen I paid for b:sad. Was this the reason why? If so, why didn't I get my zen back yet?
