What should you do if your account was **** and sold over internet

I have no idea where on the forums this belongs, but suppose you took a break and when you came back your account was **** somehow and sold over the internet.

when you reset your password and everything, suppose the guy who bought your account went up to you and demanded his account back?

what should you do in that kind of situation and who loses?

ps. it's a hypothetical situation, it hasn't happened to me YET, but i did get **** on two other games about 2 months ago and it left me wondering

    Anyone who gets or plays a character through any means other than legitimate play deserves to be shafted.

    If you can get your character back, do so. If the other guy complains, tell him to actually play the damn game from lv1. >_> You have no obligation to the money he stupidly parted with for a bad purpose.

    Here's what I'd do...

    Step 1: Sell my account, but keep my safety code.
    Step 2: Wait 3 months
    Step 4: Not include a step 3
    Step 5: Recover my account and keep all the goodies!

    Tell the person that your account was ****, and that they will need to report the issue and to learn to read the ToS of any game they play. It's not your responsibility.

    As far as I know, unlike some other games I know of, here you can't sell your account, so, if anyone bought it, they'd be breaking the ToS.

    In my point of view, if you can get your account back, do so and leave the buyer with the loss.
    Too bad they'll never get the hacker and make him pay for real.

    True its breaking the ToS, but if the account is sold via a legit route (eBay for example) then the seller will also be in trouble for breaking law and the buyer can file a lawsuit (has happened before with another game i was playing) against the seller.

    In the end the account in question was terminated and the seller had to compensate the trial expenses + damages caused to the buyer.
