Failed refining

Is this bug or do i have just REALLY BAD LUCK? So, i refined my lvl 80 bow, Guardian of the realm, with mirages to +1. After that I wanted to get it to +2. So i tried and failed and it was +0 now. I tried to get it back to +1, but know what, I failed 15 TIMES A ROW! Yes, 15 a row times on refining item to +1... So wtf is going on? Atleast it is able to be refined, I know for sure since I managed to do that once. Pls someone tell me is this normal!??
Ps, I got the bow from div. emissary, but that shouldn't matter.

    and I didn't try to refine it again after failing after 15 times cuz i was broke

    Refining is tricky. Sometimes you have great luck (i.e. +4 in 11 mirages) and sometimes terrible luck (+3 in 300 mirages x,x). It's all luck.

    I know all about bad luck when it comes to refining b:infuriated

    I have been able to get +2 on armour with just 2 mirages....other times it has taken approximately 50 mirages. I think I am probably averaging around 25-30 mirages for each piece of armour I refine to just +2 (more for weapons).... which does not make much sense given the refining percentages. However, the accuracy of the refining percentages are not the only thing in PWI that makes me raise my eyebrow with a hint of scepticism.

    I tend to get streaks of succeed-fail-succeed-fail-succeed-fail...etc. So try refining the piece you want, refine another and have it fail, the go back to the one you want and have it succeed.
    Also changing to a different piece of gear in general tends to give better luck and breaks those huge fail streaks.
    Least that's the way the ball rolls for me. Try different things and figure out what makes Lady Luck turn her eye towards you in refining.

    Refining without orbs is very tricky, sometimes it may take up to 20 mirages (if your not that lucky) to get it to +1

    Use the refining aids from the tideborn quest. You can also get more from the event boutique. But also keep in mind that the change of success is not influenced by the number of fails or successes before it, i.e. the probability of success is independent of each other for each attempt. Hence the saying, most statistics don't mean much to the individual.
