when you can't heal someone fast enough, expel acts as a last-ditch effort to save someone from dying

there is your fast but vague reply, sure someone will elaborate on that

I dont get the question. Are you asking about the skills usefulness or why exactly clerics should have it?

Expel Skill description: Expels the target from the physical world.
This causes the target to be silenced, but
it also grants them immunity to physical
    damage for 9.0 seconds.
    (at lvl 10)

Basically, it makes you (or your target) immune to physical damage while being sealed. Means, eventho youre immune to physical damage, you cant cast any skills in that period of time. However, this Seal does not interrupt channeling AOEs such as Archers BOA, Wizards DB, Seekers Vortex or Clerics BB.
This makes it, for example, really useful in delta, when the DD is abit squishy and taking too much damage, or the barb didnt get archer mobs aggro and you got them all on you. Or basically any pull where you get aggro of phys mobs while being in BB. Just expel yourself and you'll be safe.
What makes this skill attractive especially for clerics IMO, is that the seal can be purified. So you can make your target immune to physical damage without being sealed, if you purify right after using it. If you time it right, and use expel while casting purify on yourself, you can do the same thing to yourself.

I usually use it against Sins when my AD is in cooldown, but since youre sealed with it, all you got left to do is running away until the seal is off xD

Does someone know if this skill is useful in Frostcover City, on the boss named "Messenger of Fear" (not sure about the name), the one who randomly throws red balls on ppl, causing them stun and damage? i.e. Are these damages physical or not?

Don't cast expel on ppl, they almost always have buff blockers on, you'll just waste genie energy and put a decent skill into cooldown, just use it on yourself. If they don't have it on their genie tough, you got rez for a reason and they get a chance to learn something new.

Or you could ask them to uncheck Neutral Buff Filter and they could learn how useful expel can be?

i've used it when i bb. its really usefull when tanks doesnt roar or bm doesnt stun and the mobs comes to u in ff(while u bb). but only when i bb tho. also u can purify the seal expell gives off of u. good in pvp, that way u can attack while being immune to phys dmg but u gota time the purify right or it wont work.( this is y i stoped using it in pvp cos it got super annoying lol) absolute domain is better.

Trust me ppl know how to take care of themselves (or they bloody well should), if somebody expelled me I would be pissed. Last thing I would need is somebody silencing me for 10 secs when ALL my abilities except running away are skills. I mean great you possibly (highly doubtful) saved my life, now I can't defend myself for 10 secs or help anybody. Expel only works on aps noobs (right after spark and never a second later), they all have random buffs blocked and most can't even be bothered to change their settings, they will likely just tell you "why?" which is understandable.

Can't defend yourself or help anybody when you are dead, either.

The other "main" reason clerics have this skill is because it has a 20 meter range. If I see someone about to die I might run next to them and AD while I stack a few more heals on them, but expel allows you to do it from a distance more comfortable to heal from. During that 9 seconds you can give someone almost a 5 IH stack.

Although... I wasnt that impressed with it. It takes a second to take effect where they are still taking damage and I don't want to use it unless I'm sure someone is about to die, otherwise I'm sealing someone who might have been able to save themselves. That 9 second seal may also cause aggro problems if the tank can't ream/roar.

Personally, I use my AD tactic more often. Another tactic I use is get close and Earthquake mobs off your tank.

Oh, btw. The protections were basically implemented because of this skill. There used to be an issue with factions ganking WBs from each other because they'd find a cleric healing their factionmates in a BB, expel the cleric, bb drops, tank dies and everyone else follows. Then the 'Expelers' faction would kill the WB. So yes, Protections are worth learning.

Not really a problem if you know how to not die (learned your class instead of hypernoobing say a mystic or sin or something), hence the reason I said everybody should know how to look after themselves in those situations. Only reason for a cleric to die is stupidity (them or squad) expel and protections don't work on that.

Arguement redundant though, I never turn protections off, nobody has ever expelled me and if I ever do play again they never will XD.

" wtf ninna are yu expeling me" haha xD then he would like turn the damn buff filter on D; and kill me after the run. b:surrender

anyways expel is usefull yes, for you and yur surroundings, when i go to instances as delta i always ask squishy dds to turn off the buff filter just incase
