Problem with healing and res buffing others...

Just a few minutes ago I was grinding on spiders and a sin comes by and wants a res buff.
I tried to heal him, and res buff him, but every time I did, the buff or heal went to myself. I had him selected and everything, but it was still cast on myself. So he sent me a squad invite, and then I was able to heal him and res buff him. Is anyone else have this problem where they can't heal or buff someone out of squad? I know res buff isn't a squad buff, and break in the clouds definitely isn't a squad heal, and that I should be able to heal/buff random ppl without squading them, so what gives?



EDIT: Um... nevermind, I just realized I had protections on, and now I feel stupid. >.<

    On my first cleric ever.
    When I was my first week into the game.


    And you have a level 94 character and didn't know about buff protections?

    I knew about buff protections, but I forgot I had them on. I think I turned them on for tw, but forgot about them afterwards.
