he is new to the game and i assume he wants to know which class is more enjoyable/maybe even better.

lets assume money doesnt matter, then a sin is obviously better, its better then any other class... BUT without a lot of money sins are not that good.. if you cant get over 3 aps you are no addition to the team. If he plays the game legit he will spend a lot of time at TT and FC gathering mats for his gear. A sin will have to farm waay more valuable gear (tt99 gold, nirvana..) then a seeker because seekers wtih tt90 green are still a great addition to a team because of their debuffs and AoE skills (edit i know you dont farm mats in FC but nevertheless he will be in there a long time). and if you look at endgame a poor seeker will be chosen over a poor sin in every situation because a 2 aps sin is useless.

thats why i suggested him to make a seeker, because unless he has a couple 100 dollars to spend it will be the better choice. if he doesnt mind spending money then obviously sin is better

edit: you said he can afford all his gear if he can afford rank8? rank 8 is 100m on a rank sale Nirvana daggers which are a must have are 175mish ON DOUBLE XP, PAN GU CRATOR is like 300m nirvy legs around 150m.... you need to be hella rich to have a good sin

5.0 isnt the only thing a sin can do. with a low money income then a skill spamming sage sin is just as "fun" even tho useless to most squads. but a sin that skill spams actually have extremly hard hitting skills with low income on top of chill of the deep/deep chill. so if u really want to go the low income skill spam route then a sage sin is MUCH better then a seeker with low income. however there is still the issue of seekers being better at AoE.

theres actually daggers designed purely for the skill spamming route. infact when sins were first introduced (before ppl discovered sins were capable of 5.0) many considered sins to be skill spammers. before hooks the weapon of choice was the 85 daggers because of its high damage which helped skills.

but 5.0 came a long and made skill spamming sins only a myth.

well i dont want this to end in an argument about which class is better im just trying to help, and in my opinion seekers are the better non cs class.

finding a squad is usually never a problem so arguing seeker has better aoe skills would be pointless (yea ppl almsot beg seekers to join their squad (especially in fc) but the squad also needs 5 other ppl so there will be a place for a sin).

my point is, that (sins require aps, skill spammers are a myth:P) the higher you level a sin the more you will notice that you are lacking money, while a seeker will be fine with his ttXX green which makes it imo the better starter class

Key word in my sentence... "SOME" Also keep in mind aside from Mystic all of those other classes have their Rank 9 Armor and Weapons already, so of course they can hit harder than a Seeker.
Even in equivalent gear those classes will out DPH Seekers, Seekers only come to about 5-6th place out of all the classes.

    lolwut?
Wait sins need money to be good?....when did that happen? Im pretty sure i was soloing FC with crappy lvl 60 rank (then got the money for lvl 90 rank), farmed -int DQ sleeves, some H&Ts & windshield/demonspark

Sins are way more than just 5apsorgtfo, everyone just has that (idiotic) mentality, personally unless I was doing something aoe based (FC(slightly)/Rebirth/zhening/etc) I'd rather have the sin (assuming they're both competent). Sins have a all damage debuff, attack rate debuff, 2 spell cancels, and assuming they don't just use H&T probably a distract/pierce debuff on their wep.

Sins are still grossly overpowered in single target pve/pvp
    I <3 A lot of people

Seekers are more FUN to play then sins.

Yeah they can't hold agro well unless they have very good wep and just vortex a boss from full hp to empty.

I didn't play a sin yet, so I can't say about subsea, but I know that a seeker's debuff is quickly casted (if u do blade affinity before, even better) and you can apply all 3 (phys/metal, fire/earth, wood/water, maybe I mixed the last 2 but whatever..). You can also drop defense and attack levels, and all of this does stack with amp/Hf etc..

Saying that a seeker's debuffs aren't useful, is almost saying "we don't need a barb to come devour, i'll just make a genie with 80 str and tangling mire, and tada, 51% less physical def instaed of 50"

Apart from psychics, they are also the class that can get the highest defense levels, mine is 82 right now and with buffs and the O'Mailey blessing, it's a very nice 46 (maybe 47) defense level. They just need more agro skills if they want to be considered mnore tank then DD.

Thing is, everyone and their mom's knows that nothing can steal/hold agro against a 5 aps sin, so to me, you have once again, a class that is fun to play, different...overshadowed by a broken one..
Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

Nirvana daggers which are a must have are 175mish
I assume you mean the g13 barriers? Since when are they a 'must have'? People see the -interval on them, and assume they are the best. You can get the Pan-Gu and still be a mighty 4aps with the rank8's.

    so this means that:

    Assassins = serious, rich players
Seekers = play 4 fun, poor players

    am I right?

Anyways, a game is created with many different character classes so a player can choose whatever class (and playing style) he wants. So if someone thinks a seeker is better that a sin, let him be. Just PvP and let your characters decide!b:laugh

I'm not the kind of player who "calculates" every factor of a character because I just play this because is for entertainment.b:victory

BTW, i have both seeker and sin but still low level..b:cry
