    I believe the company I was referring to is larger and older than PWE. The fact that they never really admitted that there was a problem probably kept the issue from being highly publicized. It probably helped that the incidents happened in small batches and only one game seemed to be the target. Maybe the players of their P2P titles were hit as well, but I don't recall hearing much about it. Majority of the victims from the batch my friends were part of were players that hadn't logged in for months. Who is going to cause an uproar if they have no idea that their account has even been hijacked?

    The problem was swept under the rug and everyone was told to use stronger passwords and avoid RMT sites. Blah... blah...

    The irony is that the bugs and glitches in their games usually get fixed within hours/days if they are game breaking or may lead to some players gaining an unfair advantage. They don't give us an opportunity to abuse the hell out of them. They get that kinda right and fail miserably in the account security department. Go figure.

    Maybe PWI has all their eggs in the security basket? :P It's nice to see them finally addressing some problems lately, but I wish they had been a little faster!

    PWI has had their high-level security measures in place for a long time. If fact, for a while during the first year or so, the strong encryption that they used caused an issue with people trying to use WiFi because of the way packets are routed.

    They can't have done it faster since they have been practicing it from the very beginning.

    Um, yeah.

    1) I've never shared my account information with anyone.
    2) My password would require several weeks to brute-force.
    3) If I get ****, I have tons and tons of stuff I've accumulated over the course of 3 years, including stuff that's irreplaceable, so if it's gone, I'm gone.

    It's as simple as that. PWE is losing people over this. I still strongly thing that they have had their database compromised, but we've never gotten a straight answer out of them on SIMPLE, non security related questions, so **** getting an answer on this from them. >_>
