Basics
If you are new to the concept of "interval", "APS (attacks per second)" and how attack speed works in this game, please refer to Elenacostel's Archer Attack Speed Basics. It was made for Archer, but the mechanics works the same.
As you can see from her chart below, daggers start at the base attack speed of 1.25 attacks per second, or 0.80 second between each attack. You move down the chart as you shave off time between your attacks by equiping gears with - interval bonus.
Attack speed increase calculation
The way to calculate attack speed increase was mentioned in the "Assassin Guide" sticky we have, but I'm not convinced that it was clear enough, so I will explain it here and include examples.
Some of you might have wondered why 3.33 APS is 5.0 APS while using demon spark, while demon spark says it increase the attack speed by 25%, when 5 from 3.33 is a 50% increase. This is because any % increase to the attack speed in game, either by demon spark, or genie skills or cleric's Heaven's Wraith (RB), actually applies to your time between attacks (the second number on the interval list above). So when demon spark says it increase your attack speed by 25%, what it actually does is take 25% off the time between your attacks; when Cleric's Heaven's Wraith says it increase your attack speed by 20%, it takes 20% off your time between attacks.
Let's say your attack speed is 1.67 APS, we can see from the chart that you have 0.6 second between each attack, or you can find this by doing (1/APS). When you are in Cleric's RB, it takes 20% off of the 0.6 second you have, so you get 0.6*0.8= 0.48. And that's your new interval between attacks. But 0.48 isn't listed on the chart. Time between attacks in this game only breaks down to steps of 0.05, so you have to round your new interval of 0.48 to the nearest one on the chart, which is 0.5. You can see from the chart that 0.5 second between attacks is also 2.00 APS, or you can find by (1/0.5). And here you have it, if you are 1.67 APS base, your attack speed in RB will be 2.00 APS.
We'll do the same thing with demon spark's 25% increase. 25% off your time between attacks means you are left with 75% of it:
0.6*0.75=0.45
We can see that's already a number on the interval list so no rounding is needed. 0.45 second between attacks = 2.22 attacks per second, so if you are 1.67 APS base, you will be 2.22 APS when you demon spark.
There's one last example I would like to go over, which is when you are 2.00 APS base:
0.5*0.75= 0.375
You can see that 0.375 isn't a valid interval amount, but it's also right bewteen 0.35 and 0.40. When the interval after reduction falls right between 2 valid intervals, the game rounds it down to the smaller interval, which is 0.35. Your final interval is 0.35 and that's 2.86 APS.
DPS calculation
DPS means damage per second and it's a way to gauge your damage. It's useful for comparing two types of builds or two characters to see which one do more damage over time. The equation to estimate DPS is
[(max attack + min attack)/2] X APS X [1+(crit%/100)] X [1+(attack level/100)]
This equation will give you a snapshot of how much damage you are doing each second. I called it an estimation because it does not take into account of your ability to gain chi, or in other words, how long you have to go without sparking, or the 3 seconds you spend during sparking. If your sparked DPS is calculated to be 10,000, it doesn't mean that you'll do 600,000 damage in a minute. So keep in mind that this equation is only 100% accurate, as a comparison, when comparing two builds of the same base APS, and when it's not the case, there will be some small errors due to different sparking pattern.

A note I would like to add, reminded by Sakubatou, that 2.00 and 2.22 base APS both sparks to 2.86. This means that getting the TT99 ornaments will boost your base attack speed but you will still demon spark to the same speed. A this point, you can give up the TT80 daggers, as the extra 0.05 interval serves no purpose.
Level 100: 2.22 APS → 2.50 APS → 3.33 APS
This is just the most practical way to achieve the magical "5 APS" as you level. Feel free to add the tome when you feel like you can afford it. It should be noted that a Sin with rank 8 daggers and an interval tome slightly out damage a Sin with Barrier Thorn Nirvana daggers but not the tome.
Combination of gears to achieve desired APS
These are just some of the most common combinations of gears arranged in groups of APS.
Within the group, it's arranged in cost from cheapest to most expensive.
I didn't include all the combinations there are, because there are simply too many. Many of them also don't make sense, such as tome with TT80 daggers.
Feel free to post your own, and tell me where it belong on the list and I'll add to it. It was a lot of gears to keep track, corrections of mistakes are welcome.

Interval gears information
(Note that prices listed are estimated by HL server prices)
Gears are rated in ★'s from 3 being recommend, 2 being neutral to 1 being not recommended.
Level 1
★★ Pan Gu, Creator (-0.05)
-One of the two interval tomes currently available. Made from three Script of Fate (pack item) or from tome frags and pages. Since it's very expensive and you can achieve 5.0 APS without it, it's rated 2 ★'s.
$: 200 - 300 mil
★★ Love: Up and Down (-0.05)
-Tome obtained by trading in Scroll of Tome. Which is a very rare item from various Boutique packs.
$: 300 - 400 mil
-It's extremely expensive and may or may not worth the upgrade from Pan Gu.
Level 60
★★★ Counterstream Armor (-0.05)
-Rank IV plate. Obtained for 50,000 coins after you achieved rank IV.
$: 2 - 3 mil or 50k
-Rank IV requires 5000 reputation. This much rep can either be farmed by doing quests or by purchasing Wraith Officer's Badge. The badges are 10k-15k each when on sale. This is the cheapest -0.05 interval you can obtain. Should last you to level 90.
★★★ Energetic Robe: Wraithgate (-0.05)
-Cape obtained by running through Trophy Mode in Wraithgate (FB69) and winning 8 gold medals.
$: 8 mil
-There are often high level people that are willing to run through level 60-69 people through the Trophy Mode for the cost of 1 mil per run. 8 runs for 8 medals, costing 8 mil.
★★★ Bracers of Blood Moon (-0.1)
-Mold obtained by turning in 25 Silver Dragon Orders and 25 Copper Dragon Orders.
$: 20 - 30 mil
-Price is very hard to estimate now with less people doing DQ quest for DQ orders. It might look very pricey for a level 60 gear, but it offers more phy resistance than the TT90 bracers. This piece can last you well up to level 99. At 10-15 mil per -0.05 interval, and able to last 39 levels, it's well worth getting.
Level 70
★★★ Energetic Robe: Hallucination (-0.05)
-Another Trophy Mode cape. Instead of in FB69, this one takes place in FB79.
$: 8 mil
-Pay higher level players to run it just like Wraithgate.
Level 80
★★ Spirit Eater's Bracer (-0.05)
-TT80 gold bracers. Mats to craft are listed on the database linked. Get this if you can't afford Bracers of Blood Moon. This will become obsolete at level 90.
$: 3 - 5 mil
-2 gold mats can be chipped for about 1.4 mil, with 8 green mats costing about 100k each.
★★★ Hook and Thorn (-0.05)
-TT80 green daggers. They are the only TT daggers with interval add. They are cheap and will out damage pretty much all but Hitman Legend daggers before you are 99. When you achieve 2.22 base APS with these, it's time to switch daggers.
$ - 5 mil
-They are common and cheap. The mats need to craft them are also farmable in TT2-2 solo mode.
Level 90
★★ General's Bracers (-0.1)
-TT90 gold bracers. It's an alternative if you did not obtain Bracers of Blood Moon. It's the "Plan B" when it comes to bracers, because it becomes obsolete in 10 levels, and auto-binds to your character so you cannot resell to recover the cost.
$: 5 - 7 mil
-2 gold mats can be chipped for around 1.1 mil or purchased for 800k. 8 green mats can be found for 300k-400k each. TT80 green bracers estimated to be 1 mil.
★★★ Windrider Armor (-0.05)
-Rank VI plate. Rank VI requires 35,000 reputation. It's a nice upgrade from the rank IV plate. After using rank IV plate for 30 levels, this is about the time to upgrade your armor.
$:15 - 20 mil +250k
-35,000 rep requires 1,400 Wraith Officer's Badges.
★★★ Energetic Robe: Lunar Glade (-0.05)
-Cape obtained from Wing Trophy-Lunar Glade, which is an item obtained from various Boutique packs. It offers the same interval amount as the level 60 cape, and costs more. I still rank this piece 3 ★'s because this is the current end-game interval cape. It gains more HP per refine than the level 60 cape and can also be sharded with higher level shards such as VIT stone or Diamond of Tiger.
$: 30 - 60 mil
-The cost range for this item varies greatly from server to server and is also depended on pack sales. I got mine way back for 32 mil, and it has been climbing up in price to 70 mil. But with more people getting the level 60 cape, and recent increase of supply from packs, they are back down to around 30 - 40 mil.
★ Hitman Legend (-0.05)
-Weapon of the sages. The quest to trade for this daggers become available once you achieve rank VI. They are the best daggers from 90 to 99, but are expensive. Get it if you must have the best gears for your level, other wise skip it.
$: 85 - 165 mil
-Provided by Mauntille:
Strength - CoA (2mil-4mil) X10 = 20 - 40 mil
Bravery - CoA, Anniversary packs, ToBL exchange (4mil-8mil) X10 = 40-80 mil
Courage - CoA (2mil-4mil) X10 = 20-40 mil
Dexterity - Cube of Fate (100k) X10 = 1 mil
Endurance - Dragon Temple (??k) x10 = ???
Wisdom - Dragon Quests (50k)X 10 = 500k
Speed - Snake Isle Race (100k)x 10 =1 mil
Level 95
★★ Lunar - Mantle of Radiance (-0.05)
-The G13 version of the level 90 cape. You get the benefit of able to shard JoSD and more HP per refine. It's only obtainable through farming Lunar, and it requires a LOT of mats. The improvement isn't worth the effort and cost.
$: 96 - 141 mil
-Price is calculated by the prices which I sell my Lunar mats for, and the price to chip gold mats. Like all Lunar gears, if you actually pay the 3 mil to open and farm the Chromatic Tenders and the ess you need for this piece during 2X, the cost can be dramatically reduced. The trade off is, of course, the time you need to spend farming the mats. If you want to shard G13 shards in your cape and 67 more HP at +10 refine, go ahead and try to farm for it. Else, the level 90 cape works fine as end-game.
Level 99
★ Dragoon Armor (-0.05)
-Rank VII plate. Since you are only one level away from level 100, or rank VIII plate, it's not really worth the 500k it costs. Get it if it will take you a while to obtain the 100k rep needed from rank VII to rank VIII.
$: 26 - 39 mil
-You need 65k more reputation from rank VI to achieve rank VII.
★★★ Ashura's Bracers (-0.1)
-TT99 gold bracers. Improvement from Blood Moon and opens up potential for Asura set bonus.
$: 14 - 17 mil
-2 gold mats costing around 5.5 mil each to chip or buy. The green mats are practically free. TT90 bracer needed to craft estimated to be 3 mil.
★★★ Ashura's Boots (-0.05)
-The boots themselves don't actually have interval on them, but when you wear any 2 pieces of TT99 LA gears, you gain a set bonus of -0.05.
$: 22 - 25 mil
-2 gold mats costing around 9 mil to buy or 10 mil to chip. The green mats are also practically free. TT90 boots needed to craft estimated to be 2 mil.
★★★ Lionheart Necklace + Lionheart Belt (-0.05)
-These are counted as part of the TT99 heavy armor set. Just like the TT99 LA, wearing any 2 pieces of them grant you a bonus of -0.05.
$: 12-15 mil + 27-39 mil
-About 4 mil each to buy or 4.5 mil to chip the gold mats for the necklace. 8 green mats are probably 200-300k each. Cost of TT90 necklace needed to craft estimated to be 2 mil. About 9-10 mil to buy the gold mats for the belt or 10.4 mil to chip. 8 green mats can range between 800k-2 mil each. Cost of TT90 belt needed to craft estimated to be 2 mil.
Level 100
★★★ Ocean Supreme Armor (-0.1)
-Rank VIII top. It's a 0.05 upgrade from rank VI, and your end-game plate if you are making interval Assassin.
$: 40 - 60 mil +1 mil
-It's 100k more rep to achieve rank VIII from rank VII, or 4000 more badges. This is a great deal, because achieving rank VIII also enables you to purchase rank VIII daggers for 2 mil. You can also purchase rank VIII leggings, boots (and wrists but they don't have interval) for 1 mil each as you work on other interval boots/leggings.
★★ Shadow Ashura Greaves (-0.05)
-Nirvana leggings made from TT99 gold leggings. It's one of the two options for interval leggings in game. I personally prefer the Lunar Nirvana leggings, which I will mention and compare with Shadow Ashura later on.
$: 135 - 155 mil
-It's about 25-30 mil to craft the TT99 gold leggings, then 250 Uncanny Crystals, costing between 450 - 500k each to recast them into Nirvana.
★★★ Myriad Blossom Greaves (-0.05)
-Nirvana leggings made from Lunar gold leggings. Comparing to Shadow Ashura, these have higher resistances and give 50 more HP. Shadow Ashura does add 4% resistances and that may or may not make up for their lesser base resistance, depending on how refined your ornaments are. The 4% gain will remain constant while the extra resistance Lunar offer can be increased through buffs. A more detailed comparison can be found here. The mats you need to make the Lunar armor can be farmed in Lunar squad mode, which costs 3 mil to open. Personally, I think Lunar is easier to farm than TT, because the main Lunar gold mat has much higher drop rate than TT gold mat. The bosses in Lunar are also easier to kill than the ones in TT. It should only take 2-3 runs during 2X drops to farm the mats needed for the Lunar green and Lunar gold. I think it took me 4 runs to get enough for both plate and legs for BM. Farm the Cromatic Tender and you can chip the other 2 Unknown Tenders.
$:163 - 175 mil
-You first need the Lunar green piece to remake into Lunar gold. If you are buying all the mats instead of farming, it's about 23 mil to make the green armor, according to the prices I sell the mats I farm. Then 27 mil to chip the main gold mats to make the green armor into gold.
★★★ Barrier Thorn - Nirvana (-0.1)
-First stage of Nirvana weapon, grade 13. Currently the only daggers with guaranteed -0.1 interval add. They are not the most powerful daggers as far as endgame, but they are the cheapest option to achieve 5.0 APS with daggers because you won't need a tome.
$: 140 - 170 mil
-Requires Barrier Thorn - Gutbreaker and 100 Rapture Crystals to craft.
★★ Dark Death Thorn (-0.05 to -0.1)
-Second stage of Nirvana weapon, grade 15. Requires G13 daggers and 150 more Raptures to craft. They have higher base damage than G13 daggers, and also a fairly good chance of having Sacrificial Strike. The add-on's for any G15 Nirvana weapon are random, with one main add and two side adds. You can reroll the stats of your daggers by using 7 more Raptures. It's possible to obtain one or two -0.05 interval for the side adds, but the chance for having both side adds being -0.05 is small. For general purposes, they will be considered having just one -0.05 add. These will out damage G13 Nirvana daggers if you can achieve the same APS as you have using G13 daggers (having one -0.05 add + tome). G15 daggers higher base damage won't be enough to make up for the lost interval alone, because they refine the same as G13 ones. Gaining Sacrificial Strike as main add increase your DPS by about 20-25%, then with added -0.05 these will out perform their predecessor.
$:350 - 450 mil
-They aren't cheap, but neither are most endgame weapon. If you don't count the unrealistic and unpractical Warsoul daggers, Dark Death Thorn are second best only to rank 9 daggers.
★★ Netherworld Guidance (-0.05 to -0.1)
-G15 Nirvana daggers made from Lunar daggers. Stats wise they are identical to Dark Death Thorn.
$:370 - 470 mil
-They are slightly more expensive because Lunar daggers are more expensive than TT99 daggers.0 -

I'm sure mods can change that b:avoid. But hey, your guide was interrupted by Yulk b:chuckle.0 -
It would be great if the costs were broken down as well. Really I can't figure out how people afford 4/5 aps, the $$ cost and/or farming time is enourmous!!!!0

That could probably be put in there, but remember that costs differ server-wise.0 -

Ahhahaha. Fair enough. I'll hunt down Mort "The Ultimate Sin" to give his seal of approval for this, too.
It may be worth it to mention 2.0 also sparks to 2.86. One less -int piece for the same sparked speed and damage output. That may also prevent QQ threads "why did I spend xxx mil and my aps sparked the same. QQQQqqqq...."
And rgog. Aps are rough to get but payoff. As you invest in gear it pays itself back by making things easier to farm and make more coin.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0 -
Very nicely done. +1 for sticky status.
My one critique is that this assumes endgame. So, it won't help people with any "target aps by x level" questions. It might be useful to have a list of -int gear by gear slot, showing both the level it can be equipped and amount of -int it grants. Couple that with a standard -int table, which we have a few of, and 99% of questions on this subject would be answered.
But then, considering all that information is already available on this forum, I wonder how many questions it would actually cut down...0 -

I'll also add a list of maximum interval gears can be obtained by levels, such as 60, 90, 99, 100 etc. I will integrate the list of all the interval gears with the cost list.0 -
It's looking good and it's stickied, I hope we'll at least get less questions about aps.0

Looks awesome with the changes and grats on sticky status.
Last time I farmed a sage weapon, it was approximately 85-90mil (HT price, not counting price of rep). But that was about 6 or 7 months ago, so the prices may be a little different now. I've heard people say that they're currently 100mil, but that sounds a little on the high side. You may want to put in that it requires rank 6 and one of each of the seven signs, since exact prices will vary.
I'm a little unsure about the recommendations for the TT80/90 bracers. It almost seems as if both should be neutral. Since they're both bound, it seems funny to recommend the level 80 bracers and then say they're obsolete in 10 levels in favor of another set of bracers that are obsolete in 9 levels. Then you're stuck with two bound wrists as opposed to one. But it's all a trade off, so it may or may not be worth changing.
For the chart, it might be a little more useful for the sin forums if the specific crossbows and slingshots were taken out and daggers were added. Bows are fine since there are occasions where sins use bows.
The purist in me feels like fists and claws should be removed as well, but I guess just the white "all weapons" text is fine. b:shutup
Also, lol @ troll post being removed. b:laugh0 -

Thanks for the info on the prices.
Yeah my initial thought was to put it as neutral until I worked out the prices for them and saw how cheap they are. The TT80 and 90 gold combined are just half the price of Blood Moon, but the difference with Blood Moon is you can resell it, so it's really actually free. I guess I will change TT80 to 2 ★'s.
I quoted the chart and don't really want to make any changes to it, since it's her work. I can't really place various daggers on the chart anyways, because it changes depends on other interval gears. The "Dagger" on there just shows daggers' base attack speed without any modification.0 -

That's fair enough. I'd assumed that any changes would have been noted with a "modified version of" tag or something. While I also understand the point about dagger speeds being modified by other -int gear, the same can be said about every other specific piece of gear listed. The recommendation was due to a couple of threads that have cropped up where people count the -int on daggers multiple times: once at seeing what they think is the weapon's base speed, and the second when tallying up their full -int.
Edit: Just saw your update about the signs. Not all of them can be farmed in CoA. You need 10 of each of the following:
Strength - CoA (2mil-4mil)
Bravery - CoA, Anniversary packs, ToBL exchange (4mil-8mil)
Courage - CoA (2mil-4mil)
Dexterity - Cube of Fate (100k)
Endurance - Dragon Temple (??k)
Wisdom - Dragon Quests (50k)
Speed - Snake Isle Race (100k)
The costs are estimated and probably outdated- it's been awhile since I really looked at these, but it should be enough to give a rough idea on it's coin/farming cost.0 -
Thanks, I'll update it.0
-
I think the preview button is broken. It's posting while I try to preview.0
-
One slight clarification: The prices I listed were per badge and you need 10 of each badge to make a sign.
Other than that, looks good.
I wouldn't worry about the post/preview thing too much. Besides being a nuisance, most people know the forums are pretty buggy.0 -
You might want to mention the TM79 cape and the other Lunar robe just for the sake of completeness.
Also, you ought to mention all of the Nirvana options on Level 100.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

K, I'll add the 2 capes.
I haven't gotten around to the Nrivana daggers yet if that's what you meant, or are you talking about something else?0 -
Wait... why am I writing a guide for a class I hate so much...?

Got a few issues with the prices of each item. The G13 lunar gold cape is not even remotely close to 150~ mil.
If you chipped it out sure, but Ancient tinders chip out for 9 mil, yet you can buy them off AH for 2-3 mil each. You need 9 of them, so 6-7 mil cheaper for each one adds up to about 60 mil cheaper for just those 9 mats.
When I was farming for it, I used AH prices I seen. And it came out to 75 million coins, which at the time was the price of the G12 Lunar pack robe.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I don't see them on AH a lot on HL, probably because not many here run Lunar for profit. There are 3 in AH atm, and this is 2X drop. When it's not 2X drops, there are hardly any Lunar mats in AH. So I put the high end of the price as chipping price, being the worst scenario of having to chip all the mats. The Ancient Tenders on AH right now average to 4 mil each. Most ess I farm can be sold for 400k, but I'll use 300k. I haven't had an Unknown drop in all the runs I farmed Lunar so those will be counted by chipping price. I'll recalculate with that price and change the number accordingly.
3,000,000*10+50*300,000+3*9,000,000+6*3000000+9*4,000,000 =126,000,000
(Earth Ess)____(other ess)__(Chromatics)__(Unknows)__(Ancient)
I'll add a note that if you farm the ess and Chromatics, the price can be reduced.0 -
Well here on DW I see them quite often, usually for 3mil. Sometimes 4, sometimes 2.
According to AH, these are the prices on DW:
Essence Crystal: 6 mil (x3 = 18mil)
Unknown Tinder: 3 mil (x6 = 18mil)
Chromatic Tinder: 9mil (x3 = 27mil)
Ancient Tinder: 3mil (x9 = 27mil)
Essence of Nature: 35k (x30= 1mil~)
Its gone up to 90~ mil now according to DW prices. More than when I was farming for it, but still less than 150 lol. And yes if you did go this route it'd take a few weeks to even find enough sellers to get the mats. But to me the ability shard josd's in it makes it worth it.
If you are aiming to shard with vits or dots then there's really no point.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
People sell Essence Crystal for 6 mil? One Earth ess alone sells for 3 mil on HL lol. You can't get enough ess to make Essence Crystal in 2 runs (6 mil) even during 2X, so I don't see how that's profitable for the farmers unless you get a Chromatic each run.0
-
Essence Crystals can be chipped for 7.5mil. So even though the mats to make them are worth much much more than that, the crystals themselves don't go for too much.0
