Convince me to make a seeker

So lately I have been thinking about make a heavy armour phy attacking based char. I currently have all casters, wiz, psy, mystic and cleric so I fancy a change.

I don't want to make a BM and get 5.0 because quite frankly I don't want to sell myself into slavery to afford it. I like dealing damage but want heavy armour so I don't want to be a sin [the 5.0 problem also occurs here] I wouldn't mind a barb but since I like damage dealing that rules that out. Which is left with seeker.

What is seeker damage like? What about demon or sage? I know nothing of seekers apart from aoes and Vortex. If you just say Vortex full stop it will be ignored because surely their is more to the class. Screenshots of damage or just how pro your seeker looks helps me decide. I don't mind male or female I just care about how it looks but the main issue is the damage and just general pro-ness :)

Thanks in advance!

Please don't. We don't need anymore terribad Seekers who think their only role in a squad is "OMG VORTEX!!!!!!!!111111!!!11"

As much as I like Vortex, there are plenty of other skills the seeker uses.

Even when I am vortexing, I make sure to throw shatters on boss first, makes killing easier.

I love questing with my AOEs, use them alot in BH's especially when you have a barb that pulls aggro, you just help kill mobs quicker. Really handy ranged skills, even though they tend to have long cooldowns, I use them alot. Gemini slash is used as ranged aoe, or depending on the situation, I can use it as only ranged or only aoe (if that makes any sense at all).

Debuffs, we have a fair amount of them, lovely buffs for both your own as well as squad weapons. My seeker has good hp so I tend not to die often.

We have a defense buff that comes in very handy, and then a skill that throws 'attacks' back at the mob/boss.

There are obviously downsides as well, mana usage is probably the main one for me, but vortex is the main mana hog and once you hit 75 your abuse of malcohol gets easy with herbs. Charms also makes it easier and my plat mp charm lasts for a very long time, not like with Psychic or Cleric b:chuckle

I cannot speak for PVP or TW's but maybe there is some1 that can help in that area.

    Hope this helps b:victory

I have always played casters too. Seeker is.. a bit of a combination between a melee and a caster imo.

I personally spam a lot of skills personally. But it's not needed that badly either.
Seekers have some nice ranged skills, aoe's but also have quite some usefull debuffs :)
Vortex is great to kill mobs quickly or grab/hold agro on a boss, but it's taking up quite a chunk of mp. I actually avoid using it too much and save it for those "oh shi-" situations.
The damage seekers deal is quite good imo. Then again it also depends on if you go go with a str or a vit build.(I'm a vit build, so my damage is lower)
    The best way to see if you like the class though is just by trying it o.o;

If you need to be convinced to play a Seeker, you should not play a Seeker.
How come, if someone asks a question in a forum, at least 13/20 posts answers the question in the same exact way, 5/20 word the exact same answer differently and 2/20 say something completely unrelated to both life and death?

dont roll a seeker or any EG for that matter, not unless u want to be taken as second rate player, that cant get the same gear as all other classes do, i.e. R9.

Why do you say that seeker sould not be rolled just because R9 is not out yet. Thats not a good reason. Not all player are cash player who can put real money in this game to have the best gear possible. To me, cash player are second rate player. Non cash player are the real type of player.

Well isn't that a shame that my mystic is already 90 & people prefer me to solo heal situations instead of clerics oh and guess what I don't have R9 QQmeforbeingasecondrateplayerthatpeopleactuallylovehavingintheirsquadQQ gtfo.

@Omea - Its more a way for me to decide to play a class, perhaps convince was the wrong word, but since I have only played casters its a whole different playstyle.

@Everyone else - thank you for you input, I have started a seeker today so hopefully I will enjoy it.

Here's one perk that should convince anyone(especially if they've played BM and barb).

At a certain point, seeker is anti-range/runner. Where we can infinitely spam our ranged skills(this is a sealed deal at 89 with sage Rock splitting cleave). Runners will have no where to go. We present them no way out.

I know I did say I think saying convince was the wrong choice of word but meh! If you look past the trolls who only want to bump up post count you do actually get some good advice. I've just got my seeker to 60 and I am enjoying it. I still find it difficult to adapt from all those casters to a melee user but things should improve.

Yet you didn't think to look at the numerous amount of threads in here already answering your post, you just decided to make another thread like so many others? And you say we are trying to bump our post counts?
