Punishing sting missing

I'm a lvl 12 mystic and I did the quest for it to the point that you need the needles. I fought the mob then died, then it said the needles disappeared, and then the quest went away and I don't have the skill book. Anyone else have this problem? This is my second character and has happened to me twice. Help?

    Have you tried going back to Breckenridge the Mage to see if he will give you the Quest again?

    On my Mystic I got it fine but then I didn't die. Go in to your quest with your Pet ready and HP pots, or level up a bit more before you try it.
