    cheap improvements
    --> exchange the ring for attendance sheet ring
    --> get OHT map 4 belt instead of your current onedd

    more expensive improvements
    --> get cube necklace
    --> get warsong belt /r9
    --> change helmet to warsoul of heaven or ence scar /r9

    long term improvements
    --> go nirvana gear
    --> go r9 gear

    I am not sure about your physical defense but your hp is scary low mine is 4.6k with 5.5k pdef selfbuffed and I want more hp. So I suggest to change from garnets to citrine and get pdef with refines

    ok but let's say you are in delta and due to your pdef you are able to reduce the dmg you take per hit from 250 to 180 or something like that does it really help you when you get hit by 20-30 mobs at the same time ? Here is where hp > pdef Moreover with such low hp you are 1 hit for every arcane class when it comes to PvP. On the other side pdef helps a lot as you mentioned against phys attacks + soulforce skills

    So it is not a decision HP or Pdef but the question is how can you raise both equally. Most wizards suggest to go with pdef ornaments ( like you already do) and refine them up high and use HP on the armor to get to 5-6k hp and 10-12k pdef selfbuffed.

    I also thought defs > hp but the truth is dmg reduction is nice and fine but useless if you dont have a minimum hp pool to back it up

    Pretty much agree with Harm, but there is no r9 helm.. and you can just plug in the pdef/hp to Asterelle's socket calculator to see what gives you the most benefit. You need both hp and pdef equally, one is not better than the other lol.

    Also,if that is your end game gear, just keep refining it when there is sales on. This will result in some good HP gains, and once they get high enough, will balance out with your pdef.

    switched out your incomparables for perfects. They're waaay cheaper, and your p def is only ~4% lower.
    Gave you the oht belt. That's free if you can get that far in your oht.
    Changed the garnetts in your helm and cape to citrines for a little more hp.
    Changed the incomparable saphs in your wep to saph gems. Almost same price, but better damage.
    Also switched your helm for a warsoul of heaven.
    Your other ring is now an attendance ring.
    Lastly, I changed everything to +5.

    Now of course I would personally just shard citrines, but you seem more interested in p def, so whatever b:cute

    Resistances are used to calculate the damage reduction (shown by hovering your mouse over your resistances in the character window), but not everyone really gets how that works. I cant tell you how many times Ive heard people comment on how a few % reduction would hardly be noticeable and think they should skip it. Being that I dont know how to really explain this, Im just going to try an example. Pretend you have a lot of pdef which gives you 80% damage reduction from physical attacks. If you had a 100 damage physical hit coming in (after other reductions), the physical reduction from pdef would then reduce that hit down to 20 damage. Now lets pretend with some gear change that you got some extra pdef which brought your physical reduction to 81%.. some people think this scenario means you take 1% less damage.. which is somewhat misleading. You would be taking 19 damage from a 100 damage hit, which is actually 5% less physical damage than when you were at 80% reduction. It drives me nuts when somebody says.. oh its just another 3% reduction as if that actually means something. They need to add in a little more information before making a judgement (ex. 0% reduction -> 3% means youll take 3% less damage.. 50% -> 53% means you take 6% less damage).

    The OP shows a Lv.101 on pwcalc with some decent end game equips. -Why not DoD or JoSD rather than argue about pdef not covering matk?

    Am I the only one that thinks its sin for a wizard to have the channeling cape over the torment robe/cloud charger or this new g15 pack cape? IMO the garnet/citrine problem would be easier to sort out if there was another 400-500 pdef in the cape.

    Also, if that is his current build, its a sin to wipe incomparable garnets. The cheapest orb sale ever is on right now. Put $50 into the game and get those refines up.

    Oh, I forgot where I was. Correction: "farm" your gold and +7 everything with mirages.

    Ima sinner. Of course, lotsa people will agree with u. But, ima thinking a lil channelling is ok even for sage. Maybe it's a distribution issue. Protection neck and belt help on balance.

    no qq i respect the opinion

    DoD and JoSD cost a **** ton compared to citrines/garnetts, and OP said he doesn't have much of a budget.
