I've been reading follwoing threads, which apparently are already closed, and they give me a major concern.

I travel quite a bit and obviously log in from different IP-addresses. Now there is a big chance that in the household I'm visiting, other people play PWI, same as I do.
Then what happens? How is PWI determining whether someone there logged in with my account, or whether I'm physically there and logged in myself?
A week ago I was in Wales visiting a friend, together with my daughter. All three of us play PWI and we had a great time messing about, but again obviously, from the same IP-address.

It would be quite frustrating to get banned just because you visit someone and play from that IP-address. My daughter and her husband both play, same IP-address, will they get banned? When I visit them I bring my laptop, will I get banned?

Would love to see some comment from PWI.

Uh, I used to play from friends house sometimes (they lived a block away) and was never banned, as well as played from a hotel with my wife.

Ironically, these friends got banned back in 2009 as they somehow were confused for account sharing despite there being 4 very distinct people and computers playing there.

Personally, I don't put much stock in respect to "intelligence", and the way they ban for things can hardly be described as consistent. So pretty much by playing you're taking the risk of being banned, although it's a rather low risk. I would just say play from your friends house without worry, and if for some reason the random banhammer rears it's ugly head, send in a ticket and talk to a GM and it should be resolved. This is one of the things that makes PW's service, to me, considered sub-par (putting it nicely), so by playing it's pretty much understanding what you're getting here.

Likely not. But they have banned for stuff like playing from across the world before. In both topics the OP cited, the rule was rather generalized. Because of said sub-par service, you're likely not going to get a specific definition of what might cause PWE to ban you when playing abroad, and just get a general cut-and-paste "account sharing is bannable" answer. I don't believe this should stop you from playing, however, if you want to, from abroad or from a friend's house/common gaming place abroad.

Sharing accounts is indeed bannable. If you log into your account from a different IP (or a different region), and find yourself banned (which has happened in the past to players) - the simple solution is to email customerservice@perfectworldinc.com from the email address that's registered to the account and they will un-ban the person in a jiffy.

Hopefully that cleared the issue for you b:cute
