Hopefully you get this before you attempt to redownload/reinstall the game, but here goes...

I had a similar question with core client and did a little research. From what I found, it seems that core client will scan your Windows Start menu for a default installation of PWI to display. More specifically it's looking for the Perfect World International shortcut from the Start menu.

To check if you have a shortcut in the default Start menu folder, do the following:

    1) Click on your Windows Start menu on the bottom left corner of your desktop (aka the Windows orb thing in the newer versions of windows).
    2) Then click on All Programs >> Perfect World Entertainment >> Perfect World International

If this menu folder does not exist, it may explain why core doesn't recognize your game.

    To fix this:
    Make the menu folders
    1) Windows 98 users: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Start Menu\Programs
    or
    Windows 7: Go to C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    2) Starting from the Programs folder, create the following menu structure: Programs\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

    Make the shortcut
    3) Go to your PWI installation folder and go to the \patcher folder.
    4) Right click on the file called patcher.exe and select "Create Shortcut".
    5) Rename this shortcut "Perfect World International", without the quotation marks of course b:laugh

Place the shortcut into the new Start menu folder
    6) Move this new shortcut into the Programs\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International folder that you just created.

After completing those steps, log into core (or relog if you're already in). The game should hopefully be recognized at this point.

    this worked for me

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.

If anyone else has this problem download serverlist.txt from here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=30899505884967371091

And place it in the folder
    C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\patcher\server

Bah, I wish I'd checked this thread again before I uninstalled lol.... now I'm autopatching for hours as I reinstall. But I only checked the other thread on the matter.

Tyvm though, if my reinstall doesn't fix things at least now I have another option. Been waiting all day to play! x.x

There is a wall in Secret Passage at the end of the first hallway that you could walk through.

That is no longer possible. The wall acts like a real wall now.

You cannot fly through it either. *smile*

My shop character is low level and has had that glowing treasure chest appear every day for months ... I just never opened it (never saw a point).

Perhaps if his character has been around since it started, it is just the residual part of the quest, whereas new characters don't get it. Not sure about that though, as I have not started a new character since the most recent update.

    Good Luck!

Correct. The Elder's Blessing quest has been re-activated for (I believe) the month of September, due to the anniversary. It had been stopped a few months ago, though.b:chuckle

I've had pet buffs wiped wither entering or leaving halluc trench. Not seen that before, though it may be that they've just fixed the icons (since sometimes when changing areas pet buffs did get removed, but the icons stayed)

wonder if that means you can pk blue names now on Pvp server. if so that would make SP the pk spot again on LC since blue names wont pick up drops if they are dead lol

Please Send a Squad of GMs to Secret Passage to Ban any players that PKs in there so other players can continue there quests and play the game without being Harassed by PKers.
If I was a level 105 I'd PK anyone who PKed another cause it's NOT FUN when someone Back stabs you for no reason while your just trying to do your quests.

Is this new to this patch? Teleporters showing you where you would need to teleport from to get to that location. I can't remember as I like never hover them and did so this time by mistake even. o.o

That's a new feature, and I love it. No longer am I going to have to teleport somewhere (because I honestly can't always remember) and then realize that I have to teleport back because the area I'm in has no access.b:surrender
